still is dirtay jersey nick ? i like these photos...its like a city, decaying.. i imagine stories of the people hidden behind those busted windows. have you ever read 'last exit to brooklyn' ?
Good old Stockton, Illinois... this is downtown this is the ugly sign that greets people coming into Stockton (those pine trees you see through the gate are in my parents yard ) and in my signature picture, you can see some of Apple Canyon State Park which is by far the COOLEST spot around here....it is about 10 minutes away from Stockton....
actually I'm not dirtay jersey, I'm in vanilla suburbland jersey (when I'm not sleeping on someone's couch in Brooklyn). dirtay jersey is just down the tracks. hahaha, I think most of the people behind those windows are anarchist train-hopping squatters, at least in the first one.
niiiiice. The place where i live has a silly sign like that, but it says "McKinleyville: Where horses have the right of way!" yeah, i live in boonies :/ hehe
and no, I haven't read any Selby Jr. yet, but a lot of my friends like it a lot. thanks for reminding me. I've been meaning to pick it up
Hahah i was like damn boy, you need a job at good ol micky D's or something... get yourself off the tracks vanilla suburbland, ah yes, the hell that is cookie-cutter homogenization. im quite familiar with it... growing up in suburbland, Ohio for 18 years.. :/
For the true connoisseur’s of 20th century american literature, I took this picture last fall in Jaffrey, New Hampshire While I don't live there it will always remain the permanent resting place of one of my favorite authors. Hotwater
Wow, cairo is a gigantic metropolis! cool photo. Post, you live in portland? is that mt. hood? or is that bachelor and you're in bend? im having fun guessing..
Oh, I want to hang out with redwoods so bad. Here's the South End in Boston. These are not my street, but my street looks exactly like this: The South End is a beautiful historic neighborhood that was kinda run down until the gay folks (who else, right?) found it and fixed it. Of course, the artists followed the gays and the yuppies followed the artists and now it's getting pretty expensive. But it has a ton of great (but overpriced) restaurants and everyone there has a dog. I love it here.
Here's a video of where I live. Pittsburg CA no H cause niggaz don't hate! http://youtube.com/watch?v=m31wd8taAE4
