Has anyone had anyone come up to them and make some nice comments about their dreads? It seems lately, my dreads are attracting some unexpected attention. Yesterday, I was sitting and there were these two girls across the way from me and I heard them saying "Should I ask her?...why don't you ask her...?" And then they asked me all about my dreads and they were really interested and cool about it. Then today, a girl asked me a bunch of questions about them and she told me that they were really beautiful...:)

So anyone else have any positive experiences dealing with your dreads and other people?

I've had a few random people ask about them and say they look good. Worryingly it often seems to be when im going to a public bathroom. I have had others aswell, its really nice when someone else tells you they like your hair :)

i get a real mix of comments. but since i moved to brighton i havnt really had one. there are too many dreadsters here for people to even ACKNOWLEGE you have them. Which is kinda cool but kind of not cos you loose the dread community... you cant walk past a dread head and smile in a "hey we both have dreads" kind of way cos they just look down on you :(

Hahaha...wow. I love that..."if my hair DID that"...like you can't control it if you want to...lol.

I had this one guy in walmart one time stare at me...and then when he caught my attention, he motioned to his hair with his hand, and mouthed "Are those dreads?" When I said yeah, he was like "Right on, right on, I like 'em" and he kept on staring at me the rest of the time...lol. I don't mind the attention as long as it's not completely assanine.

I have had very very few negitive comments on my dreads. I always have people coming up to me asking me how I did it and all sorts of other questions (even teachers at my school like them and want to know more). A lot of people come up and feel them without asking (which can get a little annoying). Usually people are just curious and want to ask questions which I am totally cool to answer.

I get alot of comments at concerts and every once in awhile at school. I never get in trouble if i dont have a pass because one of our school security guards has dreads. A couple of ghetto people have said they look cool. Only my family really gives me shit about it, and my boyfriends family, but they make fun of everyone.

Im in Southern Mexico right now Thats why I havent been posting:) Theres hardly any dreadies here, Ive seen one set on another tourist and another set on Spanish hippie drummer dude. Its neat. Little kids come up and touch my hair.
The purple faded to yucky bleacy blde and I was getting hit on waaay too much here so I dyed it bck to my natural color (dark brown).

i am a cashier at a grocery store, and yesterday at work some rasta-like man called me his sister. I took this as an extreme compliment, as it pleased me ever so much. Then we talked about dreads for a bit, and held up the express line ;)

I've had lots of people make good comments - all strangers too. I passed a woman on my way to the shops the other day and she smiled at me and said "Wow, I love your hair!". While queuing up for a gig the other week one of the guys handing out flyers said he loved my hair.

I was out in Jamaica last October with my boyfriend, and most of the guys I came across kept calling me 'Rasta-girl'. I also met a really lovely Rastafarian - he showed me his 'secret' dreads and was telling me what to eat to make mine strong and grow fast. I never would have had that kind of conversation with him if I didn't have my dreadies. I'll always remember that guy!

I live in a redneck town, so most of the nice things I hear are said on here. I need some dreadie love. Sometimes I will run into someone who likes em, but most the time I get all the stares when I go into Food Lion! ON St. Patty's day some lil 5 year old girl said she liked my hair. I have had some chicks hit on me b/c of the dreads, but never a 5 year old.

Scratch that. Theres tons of dread heads in Mexico...you just have to go to the right places. Some of my friends were pissed when I first got dreads because everyone always loved my long thick black straight shiny hair. meh. They like em now.

I have noticed that alot of people didnt like my dreads at first, but I am gettin more and more compliments. Some women told me she likes my dreads just yesterday. I think most people just hafta get use to em. Always feels good to hear some good words about the knots.

I havent had any good comments on my dreads lately, but I am having such a wonderful dread day. I just washed up and its been raining all day. I think between washin em and the moisture in the air, it has made em all puffy and crazy. I am grooven on em today.

Anyone else ever have daze like this or am I just crazy in love with my knots?
