Can you use a poppit like a gri gri (by holding it and concentrating on what you want it to do everyday)? What if you use a poppit for a bunch of related purposes can you overload it by doing this? If something goes wrong with poppit magick then can you somehow cleanse it and start fresh? If you did that then would you have to do a ritual to make it work again afterwards? Anyone know?
A poppet is a doll used in magic. They can be made of wax, yarn, material, etc. I shouldn't use a VooDoo doll as an example because it has a negative connotation with most people but it is similar. Generally the doll represents someone whom you will be working the magic on. They can be used for healing, love and negative purposes as well. I work with poppets often and make mine based on the Traditional Scandinavian Yarn Poppets.
Yes, that is one way to use a poppet. I would keep it simple and give the poppet only a few small related tasks to do. If you keep it more focused then it should work better. Usually I would say that once you release energy in the world you need to let it run its course. There are some herbs you can use to try and cleanse the poppet of the magic but sometimes they are not always effective. Try using black salt. I wouldn't do magic unless you have been studying it and really know what you are doing.
if you dont know how to cleanse a magickal item, you may want to take huldras advice and do more study first. Yes, each one should be tasked to just one thing. Yes it can overload and IF it CAN go wrong it usually DOES! lol
