Oh whoopidee doo we have a new pope and it looks like he's a bit of a twat "While many theologians strive for a Catholic Church that is more open and in touch with the world around it, Ratzinger's mission is to stamp out dissent, and curb the "wild excesses" of this more tolerant era." http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/profile/ Fantastic Ah well we shouldn't expect anything less really.
I wonder, if these guys got laid, maybe they'd lighten up a bit? I'm sure thats the secret to them being cuntservatives, celebacy has got them all uptight....
haha he's not going to last long is he, this new pope dude... he's 78!! i think they enjoyed the funeral of the last one so much they want another one...
quote: Oh whoopidee doo we have a new pope and it looks like he's a bit of a twat Do you mind if I use your above quote from time to time?
White smoke, black smoke.? Christian, Catholic, Agnostic, Aethiest, Anyone really care about religion.? I don't.! Religion is the worse man-made invention ever created by man.
Thankfully he's the oldest pope in over a century, so with any luck he should be joining Jesus fairly soon. The Catholic church needs a more liberal Pope for the sake of the world. The reactionary teachings of conservative Popes are directly contributing the the spreading of the AIDS crisis in Africa for their opposition to condoms and sex education. I hope this Pope dies, before his words kill too many more thousands....
I wouldn't go that far. He's human, he's probably just a victim to his own repressive upbringing just like so many other catholics. It's the whole fucking concept of religion that needs to die. It's all crap, It doesn't matter whether you're Catholic, Baptist, Jewish, Muslim or a bloody mormon ... If you believe in a god then you're supposed to be building a personal relationship with a beneficial spiritual being that will help you to develop your self esteem and personal values ... all organised religion does is politicise spirituality by imposing restrictive rules from badly translated books and misguided or corrupt leaders.
I'd go that far. If he wasn't in the position he's in now, then I wouldn't care that he had a few crazy reactionary beliefs. But the fact is his influence directly results in ignorance to AIDS and to stopping it from being prevented. Thus him being Pope, like Jean-Paul, directly contributes to the deaths of thousands. If Popes could be elected every 5 years, I'd be hoping for him being voted out. Since they have to die before we see a new one, I'm counting the days....
i think you're right. he might be just a temporary solution until they chose the real successor for John Paul II.
