Pink Floyd

I want all the Floyd fans on here to show some love. They are my fav band and nothing beats smoking a fat bubbler and jamming to Floyd. They have so many albums and they're all amazing except ummagumma. Let's hear why you like them or don't like them.. less of those hopefully lol. If you haven't blazed and listened to Floyd, what are you doing? you call yourself a stoner? lol

List some songs you like, albums, whatever.

I love Pipers at the gates of dawn, Atom heart mother, Animals, Wish you were here, Darkside of the moon, The wall, The division bell, Obscured by clouds, More, The Final Cut, A saucerful of secrets and Meddle. Pretty much all the albums except 2. Sorrow is a good song from A momentary lapse of reason.

Thoughts on Syd? Gilmour vs Waters? Gilmour ftw. Syd is a legend and he shines on. His solo stuff from albums such as Barrett and The mad cap laughs are worth a look too. As is On an island by david gilmour. I'm gonna smoke another bubbler and listen to more floyd, won't you join me?

what do you think about the Wizard of Oz and Dark side of the Moon ? Have you watched it.

 

I have a digital copy of The Dark Side of Oz that is already synced up with the music. It's awsome. Downloaded it off of Piratebay.

I listened to Time last night, sang along solos and all. It'd been a loooooong time since I just vibed on Floyd like that. Every time I listen to Dark Side of the Moon after a period of absence I always wonder how I managed to live without it.

 

Comfortably Numb has the sickest most awesome solo in the world.

 

I've been getting into Syd Barret alot lately, although many of his songs are quite repetetive and seem to be recorded as more of an experiment than an LP I still find them quite easily litened to.

I've always been familiar with the Floyd but lately I've been listening to them far more often that usual, in addition I have found that many Radiohead albums to be very great, The Floyd kinda opened that door for me.

 

I really can't get into Radiohead beyond a few songs.

 

Ahh I looove Pink Floyd.
I am not really into early Pink Floyd w/ Syd.. I don't know why.. I guess it just doesn't sound "Pink Floyd" to me.. The music they make with Dave Gilmour is just much more awesome. On an Island is a great album, and so is Live in Gdansk. Roger Waters is a pretty talented fellow as well.. The Wall of course is one of my favorite Albums.. I like WYWH, too.

 

I even liked Roger Waters solo album.

Ummagumma is good too though. I like it for tripping.

of course, his guitar makes it more like a lullaby floats to heaven kinda music ..
where rogers work is more like the nightmarish and autophobic kinda shit..

 

Ya that is true... I like that style though. But Gilmours guitar playing gives me chills!
