If you could go anywhere in the world, and explore any culture in depth (prefferably one you know little about), which would it be and why? For me, I would have to say the culture of Kazakhstan is powerfully appealing. I find the notion of endless steppe absolutly romantic, and would love to lose myself in such beautiful isolation. It also has a very interesting cuisine and array of drinks (such as fermented yaks milk), lovely and unique music, and not to mention much of the nation has been untouched by human hands (although some parts, such as the Aral Sea, have been absolutly devastated by global warming). It is also a crossing point where Europe and Asia meet, so the mix of cultures should proove absolutly stunning. But thats just me, anybody else have any cultures they would like to explore?
For me...India..Tibet...Mexico (mayans and aztecs)...and North America (hopi, native americans) pop into mind....
Ooooh..thers just so many....being fascinated by the world at large is one of my favourite past times...

I have some friends that drive down to Arizona and Nevada and go peyote-picking every year. They always bring me out some and peyote... probably the most natural hallucinogen there is.
