do you use different voices to talk to different people?! i mean sometimes theres a need for it, but all the time?! I had coffee with my bff this morning for the first time in almost 6 months, anyways she answers the phone and talks like a little girl to her parents, she answered sultry and seductively to a guy she says she doesnt like then answered like slim shady to her brother.... wtf?! i was kind of put off by this new habit of hers... does anyone else do this?!
I don't know. I kind of had phone sex last night after 13 years...I was too busy to notice the tone of my voice.
When I'm talking to an employer or someone of professional acquaintance, I use a more "square" "american" voice.
i use one of those robotic sounding voice-box things when talking to my victims... you were on the phone for 13 years!?
:cheers2: Yes, I do have my "standard" speech, and my city-boy speech that I use depending on the situation. I would think everyone has variations of this kind; only some people are more manipulative than others.
The only time I noticed was when I called home from work one time and was talking to my 4 year old brother...my coworkers made fun... (yes, I am a LOT older)
You sound like my friend Terron. At work(phone job) he'd talk to people in his best stuffy, right, white accent... If I didn't see him do it, I would've swore he was teh guy from "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". haha
everyone's tone varies slightly from circumstance to circumstance but a full on style change?! she might as well be changing costumes too..... it struck me as odd.....
You use a lot of ?!'s But no, not really. I don't really even look to see who's calling half the time. There's really only one way I talk on the phone
i think everyone does it. it's like a sign of their status within the relationship and expectations, bonding, etc. even dave does it. i can always tell who he's talking to by the tone of his voice and his language. so yeah, i totally do it. i don't have conscious control over it.
slight to moderate variations yes, a complete 180 into a drama production...no i suppose i shouldve mentioned, she wasnt always like this....an animated character mind you, but not this extreme- it really just threw me off, how does a person change so drastically in 6 months?
