phobias

I guess I am scared of the dark, or being alone when it is dark or being alone in the dark... or maybe just the being alone thing. Point is, I'll be 25 this December and I am afraid of the dark. What's that phobia called anyway, narcophobia... nah that sounds like fear of dead people. Eh... well, am I alone with this one?

Also I have a very irrational fear of bugs. A fear of them in general, only if they are in the house with me or very big indoors or outdoors, if they're small and outdoors I could care less. But mostly I have a fear of being covered in bugs or one crawling on me. This fear got so bad one time that I cut open bump in my arm because I was convinced that a bug had burrowed into my skin... turns out it was a calcium deposit or something. I've fallen asleep with the light on in my room often b/c everytime I turned out the light out I felt like there were bugs crawling on me. Am I alone in this fear too? Probably in the cutting open of the arm thing, but I'd figure not many people would go that far.

I also have this thing with driving, I turn around just to be sure no one is in my back seat, even after I have checked it. But then again I get that feeling of someone being behind me alot, driving or not.

 

I have a fear of windows that people can see in. If there aren't people around that want the shades open I close every shade in the house especially at night. Strange

 

Once, when I was sleeping, a BIG hairy spider crawled into my open mouth. I woke up and spit it across the room. Then it hid in a crack in the floor. I could hardly sleep the rest of that night cuz I was affraid he'd do it again.
Now I have a fear of spiders, but only when I sleep.

 

Funny you should say that, that's part of my problem with it being dark and being alone. I think people are looking in the windows, I have shades on all the windows that can have shades on them. Of course I probably have that fear b/c when I was 18 I had this guy that would make obscene phone calls to me only when I was alone at night. When it first happened the window next to me had it's shade up and I felt like this creep was looking right at me.

OMG!!! that is my biggest fear. thats y i cant go to sleep if i see a spidr nearby, im scared it will crawl on me/ or in my mouth- eurgh... now hearing that IT IS actually possible im scared :S

i have a very irrational fear of telephones for a start. i hate everything about the things, and will run a mile if i'm asked to talk to someone down one.

also, horses and blue cheese freak me out hugely.
although, the one thing i hate about my personality is my constant paranoia, other than my phobias.
(btw, i'm also staring to get increasingly scared of sweetcorn...)

I don't like any kind of insect-big, small, furry, whatever. If I see one, I'll stand in the corner throwing stuff at it-just because I'm so afraid of coming near it.

 

as much as i welcome your opinions, i really don't welcome your insults. most people have fears that others may brand as "stupid" (probably even you), but fear is just another emotion, and emotions just aren't "stupid".

anyhoo, you haven't mention your own phobias, which makes me think quite low of your courage levels. before you insult the emotions of others, you should accept your own fears, and post them here.
