PETA nonprofit status upheld

For the second time, the animal exploitation lobby has used their political muscle to attempt to deal a blow to one of their most active and vocal critics. Once again, however, the IRS has investigated and affirmed PETA's nonprofit status.
The drive to remove their charitable status also occured in the early 90's, when the consumptive use lobby was at an all-time high on the attack against animal groups--much as it is today. (Maybe wartime brings out the anticompassion sentiment??)
