For the first few days of my period i get really bad lower back ache. Nothing I seem to do helps and sometimes the pain is so much that it makes me feel sick.

I have just taken two codeine tablets, but still no difference :(

Anyone else have this and what do you do to help it?

I know pain in the lower back is natural...I've never experienced it though.
If codeine doesn't work, I don't know what would.
    A warm bath, perhaps?

I get this as well, and to be honest I haven't found a way to really get rid of the pain. But I have definitely found that drinking some herbal tea designed for menstrual problems really cuts down on all my symptoms, including back pain.

Also, a hot bath or a heat pad can sometimes help.

I find that a warm bath and treating myself like chocolate ice cream helps. Either the hot bath and being relaxed helps reduce the pain, or I'm just too relaxed to care much.

Birth control helped me tremendously with the pain.
