Well, as part of the Peace Pne Day campaign, which I talked about in the first thread, I've written a new poem. I'm dedicating it to the campaign and will be reading it out this Saturday at Norwich Fringe Festival to raise awareness. I've also experimented with new writing styles as you suggested Showmet. What do you think? "Peace One Day" From the West Bank to East Berlin, Hiroshima to Ho-Chi-Minh, From the Boer War to East Timor, Kosovo to Alamo - Hear the children cry in pain, Turn the page, another stain – History book’s been written red, Another people, broken, bled, Another chance for peace – Dead. From Ypre’s fields to Stalingrad, Falklands to the old Yugoslav, From Afghanistan to Sudan, North Korea to Chechnya – Watch the poppies, trodden to mud, See the Tigris, run with blood – Another war begins to rage, Don’t be quick to turn the page – Change must come, come what may, Together we’ll look for another way, Together we’ll make peace, Peace One Day! www.peaceoneday.org
Peace - Phoenix you write good poetry with such a strong feeling. I wish I could come to the Norwich Fringe Festival this Saturday . Good Luck on reading it out , I hope it all goes well. Keep The Campaign Going, Every Step Of The Way, man
That's a fair point, I may look to rework that line before Saturday.... Rainbowkid, the Peace One Day campaign is amazing, it has really inspired me in many ways. They have a petition on that site to register your support for the campaign. Literally millions of people around the world are on board, and the more people we can get to take action every year on 21st September, the closer we'll come to makeing Global Ceasefire Day a reality.... http://www.peaceoneday.org/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=peaceoneday&page=register
