So i found these in my lawn, im in NJ and panaeolus subbalteatus' grow around here on lawns, and in my back yard i found these on my lawn. i am pretty sure they are them, however the stems arent very thick at all and dont bruise blue.. they have a black spore print, but i really cant tell if theyr really dark brown or black.
let the print sit on white paper for some time before picking it up, spores will drop in a few minutes after capping, but will fully drop over the course of a few hrs.. they look like subs though,, go pick more... Be careful to identify all before eating even if picking them all up near by.. .
haha. yea, theyr the one (almost) common shroom in newjersey that we should be looking for. im hoping after the last 2 weeks straight of rain, we can get a nice sunny day to make some humidity so i could harvest some again
would anyone think its a bad idea to eat like half a cap and wait a few hours, see if anything happens? ive never eaten a bad shroom before, idk what i would feel if i were to eat a half a cap of something poisonous.. half a cap wouldnt be risky would it? im looking for look alikes and dont think any of them are poisonous anyway.. just kinda think shrooms growing in my backyard is too good to be true
Eating a half a cap is a HORRIBLE idea. Get a better print and give us more info about them. Also, try posting at Shroomery.org.
wft?? Toxic species of mushrooms will attack your liver. dont matter how small the shit is, possible the smaller the more lethal it would be,, over a period of a few days you might develop symptoms, where as if you ate a lot you would feel sick sooner.. by the time you realize it was from that mushroom a week ago?
it is. but for anecdotal reports, and for very basic general information when you don't know much about a particular topic, they have a lot of good information. when it comes to identifying mushrooms, it will be pretty much worthless
i like the squirrels dude, i wouldnt eat those mushrooms.. those same things grow in my backyard like crazy i've always been told they were poisonous soo stick to what you already know
Look the same as mine. The only look alike mushroom is the haymaker shroom (not going to kill you) but those look like sub. panns. Be careful eating shroom in the garden because if there are rodent droppings or slugs they can spread themselves on the shrooms.
^ uh.. what? what look the same as yours? hawaiinkine, that post does not make sense to me. are you talking about your picture or mine? im confused.
your shrooms look like mine. I've eaten enough to say it's 99.99% safe. If yours is not pan subb. then it's a relatively harmless haymaker mushroom.
mine don't look like the ones in that picture. unless you have something other than whats in the picture, i don't think so.
