Osama Bin-Laden was killed during a raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. His son and several couriers were also killed. Osama was buried at sea after DNA tests proved his identity and Saudi Arabia supposedly refused to accept the body. The action was a result of months of investigation of one of Obama's couriers.

He was hiding in Abbottabad, a Packastani military town..

  3. What worries me is that Ayman al-Zawahri will probably take over the reins of al-Qaeda. In my opinion he is the real brain behind the organisation and Bin Laden the "poster boy". He is astute and very politically aware therefore very dangerous. We'll just have to wait and see what occurs over the next few days!

The announcement made on the 66th aniversary of the announcement of Hitler's death. The whole thing seems contrived and manipulated. I have this weird feeling something terrible is happening or is about to happen that we're not supposed to focus on.

You already have a new bogey man picked out. I've never been convinced that al-Qaeda even exists.

"He is astute and very politically aware therefore very dangerous."

That accounts for what we get to choose from every election. Only those that are neither.

this. it sickens me that people are joyous over the murder of someone that we put into power.

  8. It gave me a really bad and uncomfortable feeling when I saw all those people outside the white house. I can't really explain it properly, it just wasn't right!

I'm gonna take a guess and say that it's the "celebration" part that bothers you. It's like Whoopi Goldberg said at her 20th anniversary one woman show in reference to Sadams sons.Don't get me wrong, i'm glad he's dead.He was a dangerous man who killed alot of innocent people and would do it again.BUT WHEN DID WE BECOME THE BARBARIANS!

Just caught your post.I agree in the sense that i don't see killing as something to celebrate. In this case it was something that had to be done.Even Obama kept things in pesrpective. If it where bush (or any other conservitive)it would've been another photo op with a "mission accomplished" banner.Checkout his anouncement.Notice he doesn't mention Iraq!

I don't hear him cautioning Americans either. It shouldn't be necessary but there appears to be a huge segment of the public that views all this like it's a sporting event. He could use his bully pulpit to elicit some restraint in the interest of national security.

That speech to me was a mess, and quoting the pledge of allegiance at the end was a school boy speech writing ploy. I am sure he would have wanted to hand out flags and remind people to vote for him in 2012.

I know! I find it completely disgusting. It only perpetuates violence. Everyone is cheering because we supposedly "got the bad guy" (someone used that exact phrase to me) but in his followers' eyes, America is the bad guy. There is going to be retaliation.

Bin Laden should have been caught and tried as a war criminal. Killing him will do nothing but perpetuate an endless cycle of violence.

I think something feels really calculated about all of this, as well, but then again I have zero trust in the goverment.

The local VFW in my town is open to civilians today and they are giving out free drinks in celebration. Yay drunk idiots are going to be out in full force, driving, getting DUIs, possibly getting into life-threatening wrecks, and celebrating murder. Parrrtyy time!

still. a free drink is a free drink. maybe i'll stop by, have a couple of drinks, and spout off my very unpopular opinion. And get my ass kicked. Parttyy time!

Watch yourself, drunks can get really mean especially when they are wound up with false machismo. It's really not safe out there anymore and hasn't been for a long time.

News update it would appear they did take photos complete with bullet to the head, but they are playing with them the same way they did the birth certificate. Maybe if Trump asks to see them the rest of the you will be given the opportunity.

Frankly I don't want to see them. I don't need the visuals and I definitely don't want to save one as a trophy.

They also video taped the funeral at sea. Perhaps they will share it with his family.

this should have been taken care of by the muslim's in Pakistan, they really need to learn to police their own criminals, and not use the US as international police....
