Some will argue but most will agree;soil for taste and hydro for yield!I have done both and IMO,proper soil grown organics cannot be touched for pure smokability!

    gotta have that dirt man
nothing like good tasty dirt grown buds
I swear that the differences in strains from different climates come partly from the soil differences, as well as climate differences.
but that is just my opinion.

    Research.

The information is out there; don't expect someone to mentor you on all aspects of growing.

Or just find a neighbor with chickens and horses in the yard. Collect the poop, take it home and stick it in a trench or hole, wet it down and cover it with plywood or plastic,(keeps the flies down).
1/3 compost 1/3 sand and 1/3 soil is a good mix. Make sure you compost manures two months at minimum.

    I agree.
Organically grown ANYTHING is better. Pot, tomatoes, whatever.

And to me, organically grown anything isn't TRUELY organic unless the #1 ingredient--water--is also organic (not tap water).
Back in SoCal I used to host a campground up in the mountains and about 100 yds. away from the campground was a year-round spring-fed stream. I used to fill up a 5-gal. water bottle everytime I went, for drinking/cooking at home.
One day I realized that my indoor organic pot wasn't TRUELY organic unless the water was too.
So I bought 10 5 gal. bottles (fuckers cost $8.00/each) and would spend about a hour of hard labor filling up those bottles (full they weigh 50 lbs.), carrying them to my van, taking them home and lugging them down a loooong driveway in the dead of night (so the neighbors wouldn't see) and using that water exclusively for my pot.

Almost immediently I noticed not only a increase in growth BUT it cut the time needed for flowering by a much as a week.
I mentioned this to a chemist/environmental scientist friend of mine and he said "Of course, it's living water".
    "Huh?"
He went on to explain that the water I got from the stream is "living" water. It came from a stream which supported life, like fish. It has "life force", unlike tap water which will kill fish dead.

Where I live now I have that pure "living" water" all the time.
There is a spring-fed year-round stream on my prop. and the water for the house is pumped from below the stream bed and into a tank which supplies all the water on this prop. and the surrounding 4 properties.
Inotherwords, the water that comes out of the tap--the sink, bathtub and faucets outside--is pure mountain spring water. I bathe in mountain spring water.
Even the toilet flushes mountain spring water.

To me, the best-tasting pot is grown outside, in organically amended soil, under the sun and watered with living water.

Hmmm.. could be why my plants seem to start budding so much earlier than a friends. He's on city water. My house water is tied to a spring fed well in the mountains.

Use rain water collected from a butt if possible. If you have room for a water butt collecting from your roof downpipes leave the lid off and put a few goldfish in. These will eat the mosquito larvea and give the water a small, but welcome dose of fish poo!

I only grow organic and visitors that have shared a social taste with us have allways asked what strain and how come it smells and tastes so nice. As well; as the usual question of how much! But I'm not commercial and friends get it for free as I'm a hobbyest. (No thanks I have enough friends!)

As I'm here I'll share a tip with us soil growers. Allways sieve the soil/compost you use-introducing air to the medium. A light soil in paramount to new root growth/feelers and will put your re-potted plant in good stead. If using a perlite mix (advised) hand fold/mix the lightened soil with the perlite AFTER sieving the soil.

    Goldie.
