First off, Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to degrade anybody..Or wanting to put anyone down..
I have noticed by some of the threads here that some of you keep talking about having to go into the doc every few months to get your meds increased due to tolerance..
Untill 2 months ago I was was scripted 70mgs of Norco and 60mgs of Oxycontin..
I was on this same dosage for almost 4 yrs. Without a single increase. I had times that I would hurt real bad one day but the next day I felt better. So I would take more one day and less the next..But my tolerance never increased.
What are you guys that have to keep getting increases going to due when the doctor says no more.. And cuts you off, And they will cut you off no matter what kind of pain your in. If not cut your shit in half. I mean do you really think they are just going to keep increasing your meds cause you say its tolerance..
I've seen alot of people that get in your shoes and the doc has to cut you cause the DEA can't justify what your givin..I mean do you really think they are going to give you 500 to 1000mgs of Oxy a day..
This has always scared me, I'm gratefull as all hell to get meds at all. There are bad days even on meds and I just work through it..
Also what about when you get to my age and your tolerance is so high that they give you something that won't even keep you out of withdrawl let alone pain relief..
Anyway I'm not trying to put anyone down, I'm just wondering if you have thought about this.. Maybe its just me but I want meds to work for me when I get older.
I also don't understand why my tolerance stays the same and everyone says it there tolerance. Truthfully I think its because of abuse.Still I'm an Addict and I do abuse mine once in awhile but still get by with what I have.
Anyway something to think about and discuss
IS IT REALLY TOLERANCE OR ABUSE

I wouldn't consider myself an abuser to the point where I need pills to get by everyday. Thankfully I don't have CP either. I basically do opiates on a recreational basis. I hear what you're saying though with the people that have people totally dependent on opiates. That must really suck! I have noticed that my tolerance has gone up over the time that I've done opiates though. You just must be more fortunate than others. Cheers!

    i do understand your point.
and i know that im one of those people that you are refering to.
im kind of thinkin that your age has something to do with your tolerance not going up.
i forget who mentioned that, but i remember reading that with older people, there tolerance rises alot slower then youger people.
whether thats true or not, i dunno.
but i do plan on asking my doc that on my next refill.
i really don't want to get to the point where im taking 500-1000mg a day.
but i ask for an increase in dose because my current dose isn't taking care of the pain. not because i want to abuse them.
i figure its pointless to be taking these meds in the first place if there not doing what there suppose to do.
im really hoping that i need surgery at this point because i've tried literally everything before these meds.
and the pills are the only thing that work.
i really don't want to be on these meds for the rest of my life.
im only 20 years old for fuck sakes.

but yeah, i only get an increase in dose if i really need it.
i've never asked for an increase for the reason to abuse.

I really like you, And i'm not saying its a bad thing I just don't get why mine stays low, I would hate to see what happens if you end up in the hospital.and they don't give you shit..
I got really lucky on my surgeries my doc gave me all I wanted on the pump along with 5mg shots every hour. I was fucking wasted.LOL

lol, that reminded me of the movie drugstore cowboy, how in the end, they just give it to him, ha.

    y'all should see it.

but yea, if i was on opiates daily i'd do my best not to abuse them, not trying to withdraw off like 80mgs of OC.

Tolerance will go up way faster depending on the route of administration. For pain your proboly popping them. It takes longer to get addicted and longer to develope a tolerance if you pop them versus snorting or IV'ing. That could be a reason but no doubt there are some exceptions.
