I started over, had dreads 3 years ago. They were brushed out after only a few months. Reason; well i was just very impatient, now i know they take time and work. Im ready for Round two, and I know they will turn out great.. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=4071&pictureid=31558
Do. Not. Use. Wax. Ever. No exceptions. Okay, sorry if that sounded harsh, but it'll screw up your hair.
Well i use the wax to keep frizz down, and i know a hairdresser will amazing dreads, and she used wax as well, she has had them lovely locks for seven years now.. So i need to keep my frizz down for work therefore i had to buy and use wax..
Please listen to everyone about this wax pandemic. I used it, it almost destroyed my dreads. It doesn't help, how can something that sticks hair together allow movement and knots to form? It doesn't thats why. Please don't use it anymore, refer to the deep clense in the FAQ Alex
My friend with awesome eyesight cuts himself. Therefore I should cut myself too to get awesome eyesight, right? Also, look closely at her dreads, you'll see bits of wax in them, and I imagine if you pick them up, they'll feel stiff and heavy and not like dreads.
LOOK this is why i hate forums, i thought maybe this would be different. Thank u alex i will take it into consideration.. N for dreadlockstfw or whatever, just shut up.. I put this up for Nice comments.. Please, i will do my dreads my Way, and i dont want to hear Lectures, everyone does it there own way, my hair is locking just fine with a small amount of wax..
The wax never comes out. My hair dresser convinced me that I needed some, luckily it's black so it doesn't appear in my hair as much, but it's still here after one and a half years and has collected TONS of gunk. Luckily most of it was at the tips and i managed to cut a lot of it out. The stuff that's still there is nasty though... If I go awhile without washing it starts turning green, I really need to get it out. Boiling did nothing.
Thank you ! that was a way better post, i will keep that into consideration. Now then ,do you have any other methods of keeping Frizz down?
Use aloe. It feels a lot better in your hair and washes out easily. Also, it's pretty cheap and it doesn't take a lot to keep the frizz away. Make sure you use pure aloe vera and that it doesn't have additives.
Just throwing this out there but.. this thread says your one week in and the other says 2 weeks.. which is it ?
the 7 on the bottom are 2 weeks, and the rest are one week. So one week for full head of dreads.. sorry i didnt explain that.. im not much of a writer, in fact i suck at spelling, writing and grammar.. so i try not to do much of it..
my friend used wax Then we had a 45C day (113F) he was napping in the sun down the beach when the wax melted out of his hair and all down his face. It blocked up his nostrils and sealed his lips He almost sufficated! We managed to cut his throat and open up his airways just in time. He now has a fear of anything wax related. Candles, surfwax, earbuds etc etc Take this into consideration. Wax doesn't ruin your dreads.... it ruins your life
lols "i put this up for nice comments" sorry, you must be in the wrong forum. also, aloe vera is the best thing i've found for frizz.
