We have to make it easier to take children away from parents. Harder to become parents. (Why shouldn't you need a license to become one?) Harder to become foster parents.

But. Easier to become adoptive parents.

Like I said, it should be easier to have your parental rights taken away, harder to become foster parents and easier to become adoptive parents.

And I forgot to add. Foster parents should be given preferential rights over anyone else in adoption. If they choose they want to adopt that child or children. Natural parents are always the default parents when no one else is available. But not necessarily for what I just said. There was a story a while back, maybe I'll look it up. On a news magazine show. And this little boy had two beautiful parents. They raised him. But his natural father, this man who I think lived in a drug house and stole things for a living, just found out he was even alive. Like 10 years later. And he said with tears in his eyes on that show, I want him. He's mine, he's my flesh and blood and I want to reclaim him. The news anchor interviewed him making him think that he was on his side. But bullcrap he told the viewers. The first family is the one that was best for him. They are really his parents. Not some lowlife hoodlum who just found out about that. See what I mean?

As to when the rights of foster parents come before those of natural parents, I don't know. I'd say anytime the child was taken away, definitely. And if it was circumstances beyond the natural parents' control, then on a case-by-case basis. Am I wrong?
