I have a strawberry pot full of mint, and it's growing faster than we can come up with ways to eat it. This afternoon I gave the thing a serious "haircut" so it wouldn't wilt up on me, and brought the cuttings inside... I had two HUGE fistfuls & no immediate need for fresh mint.

I was craving chocolate, so I dumped every bit of the mint (even the stems) into the blender. Then I threw in some cocoa powder (about 2Tbsp) and 2 cups of soymilk & then filled it the rest of the way with ice & ran it until everything was smooth.

The kids & I are now enjoying the mintiest, yummiest mint-chocolate something-or-other I've ever had! Kinda reminds me of peppermint patties, only better & fresher.
    love,
    mom

Go for it! It grows like crazy!

Ask around to see if anyone has any in their yard - I got mine from my mom, and she's constantly looking for people to give more to. The stuff is highly invasive and everyone I know who has mint is trying to give some away!

    Cool, thanks Mama :)
I've killed cacti through neglect before, but hopefully a little herb garden for my window sill won't be too tough.

Naw, it's not that hard - we've managed to kill a couple types of cactus AND several aloe. Mint though, as long as you keep picking at it, it'll keep thriving.

Mine is on my (full sun) back deck. It gets watered once daily (unless it rains) via soaker hose for about an hour, and it's grown to about 20-25 times its original size in 4 weeks.
    love,
    mom

Mint is probably the only green leafy plant that mixes well with chocolate, surprisingly enough....Chocolate and parsley or lettuce dont exactly mix...but mint has a great synergy with chocolate :)

Mint is very balancing if you take in raw chocolate too ( http://cgi.ebay.com/Raw-Organic-CACAO-Beans-Raw-Chocolate-Free-Samples_W0QQitemZ260136375300QQihZ016QQcategoryZ19262QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ) , since it's so high in magnesium, it's good to mix it with a high calcium food(mint)....it makes you feel so good too :)
