Nu Metal vs Original Metal

Do you prefer the Nu Metal bands like Slipknot and System of a Down or the Original Metal bands like Metallica and Judas Priest?

Nu metal is an insult to metal and rock 'n roll in my opinion.

 

Nu metal is good but I have to go with the original, because it is much much much better.

 

ive got a mix of both... i grew up on KoRn and TOOL but i like other stuff like Tom Petty and Motley Crue... idk what i like best....

 

I don't like most "nu metal", but I rarely listen to any old metal either. Still, some of the old stuff is nice for some clean innocent fun every once in a while.

Nevermind that "heavy metal" subthread.

Numetal is annoying and lame. Once in awhile a listenable song comes out of a numetal band, but not often.

Obviously classic metal is where it's at.

I really dont know the difference 'cept Linkin Park are supposed to be numetal and I think they rock,
I like Metallica nowadays, I love System Of the Down and Slipknot but ive never heard of Judas Priest. I never grew up on Original Rock so maybe thats something to do with it... Then again Im still a teen.

Original Metal diffenetely has my vote!!Surprisingly enough there are some Nu Metal bands I like,like Godsmack and Muderdolls ect.,but I'd listen to the original over nu anyday.

Mhhh, I don't know what's the difference, but I think that Nu Metal is Korn, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park....If that's the case Nu Metal is good music for my ears, I love it. I don't like Slipknot...

I love Metallica too. And I voted original Metal.

 

KoRn is the only good "nu-metal"... and you dont like slipknot because they suck ass.

I've never heard "good nu metal". All of it sounds like shit to me.

 

i like more music than i should, so of course there's a few nu metal bands thrown in here and there. i mean, nonpoints older shit was priceless. and puya? dude, that shit was the only heavy thing coming out of nu metal at the time.

but i'd much rather listen to sabbath, pretty maids, stryper, flotsam and jetsam, pestilence, gammacide, maiden... plus like every 80's thrash band in existance.

but i mean, there's still good stuff coming out in new metal (not nu metal, i'm taking newer metal music). and no, i'm not talking about cheesy prog dream theatre type stuff either!!

 

I like a couple so-called "nu-metal" bands such as P.O.D., Stone Sour and Linkin Park.

However, nu-metal isn't really metal. It's just rock music with metal influences here and there.
