nirvana sucks there the most over rated band ever everyone likes then because there the cool thing they realy arnt that good i know some many bands that have more talent and lyrics

i think there are a lot more better bands out there, but Nirvana is a classic for sure i like the drummer tho and some of the bass guitair riffs are not too bad like the love buzz one etc. but when it gets to Kurt himself.. he mumbled too much a nd i have no idea what the hell were the lyrics about and the guitar could be better anyone can play power chords

I'll agree they're overated, but I think people tend to completely debunk them when trying to get away from being part of that crowd that overrates them. Great band, not the greatest, but c'mon.... they're great. They write catchy songs worthy of being accepted into many a genre. Jesus dont' want me for a sunbeam.... mmmmmm, that song is so noice.
Its just ridiculous when people attack their musical ability, it is not about being an 'A level student' everything that is great about Nirvana is mainly because of Cobain, he was a brilliant artist and his art was not always pretty. They are the antithesis to posers like Bon Jovi and Zak Wylde. They may have been overhyped but people seize things that are genuine, due to the small amount of genuine stuff around. Most people that don't like them, simply do not get them. A sign of this is when they attack the lyrics and the guitar playing.
