Does anyone know of a really good newsreader program for viewing usenet groups? I know that Netscape Navigator and Outlook Express both have built in newsreader capabilities, but I don't wish to download either of those. I just want a program that functions solely as a newsreader, preferably with some nice features. Thanks in advance.

Do you know how Agent (the free version) compares to Thunderbird? I know the free version of agent doesn't have a kill list as well as a few other features, and I couldn't find a list of capabilities for the thunderbird newsreader.

I've never done a feature comparison between the two, but Thunderbird should be enough for average use & it's free. :)
The best thing would be to just download thunderbird & mess with it a bit. :)

Thunderbird is great..but it isn't "soley a newsreader" as its a mail client too..but I'd still suggest Thunderbird, unless you are looking for some special feature, or super small footprint, in that case...you could try something like Gigi's reader: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gon/

I suppose that I'll try Thunderbird and Gigi's reader and see which one I like best. Thanks for the help everyone.
