So last night I took a shower and after my shower I decided that I'm not going to do anything to it. If I don't brush it or anything like that, will it start to dread?

It will dread for sure. But it will be a long process. I've been neglect for almsot four years now and it took about a year and a half for the knotts to be really tight. And they didnt knot in a rope like fashion but rather just formed a helmet of knots on my head and then I had to seperate them into individual dreads.

haha my backcombed hair took a year to be very dready.
    its different for everyone.
marys hair dreaded really fast i think (right?)
but she has great texture for it.
i didnt brush my hair for about a year and i didnt get dreadies forming.

it varries alot..more often it takes less time then they say but some can take a long time..mine maries and many otherews took just weeks to see the 1st dreads showing up and were fully dreaded in 3 months or so but others take longer
length helps a ton, but mine started really short..2 inches maybe 3..which is really unusual for natural unless the hairs more like african techtured

noone can say how long it will take..it might take weeks mioght take months, very rarely it can be over a year
all i can say is try it as long as u cvcan if u go vcrazy waitting for results twist n rip or add beads to speed it up
    beads help alot

Well I can feel my hair tangling up. But I'm also wearing a doo rag to bed which so far is helping it dread and it is making sure I'm not waking up with hair going everywhere. Also most of my hair is 3 in.s long
