Who's had um? Share them! Today, kinda sorta had one, KINDA, but I got really spooked. Me and the boy went hiking in the woods by his house. These woods are not very often used, especially in winter, and especially as deep in as we went in. So here we are, walking in the snow, which was up to my thighs at points and up to his knees-ish since he lives life at a comfortable 6'2 and I am a 5'5 peanut. So 30 minutes in, lose all feeling in my legs from knee down. That's fine, keep walking and get to this quarry, start climbing huge boulders by this cliff, and by cliff I mean an icy, rocky, straight down death hole that was ohhhhh... a 70 foot drop? Into jagged rocks and such. So we climb from boulder to boulder, trying to get to one that leaned over the ice and had an amazing view, and to set the scene more, most of the boulders are spread out enough that you have to jump from one to the other, which is scary in itself, but these boulders are covered in snow and ice and it's pretty impossible to guess where the edge was. So here I am, jumping all these rocks by this cliff with no feeling in my legs. All is well, we get to the rock we wanted to, kiss, look at the view, what have you. Then we work our way back, which is way scarier because getting there was all on an incline, so if you slipped, you slipped up rather than down and off the cliff, you know? So I'm stepping in the boys footprints and following his path and there's a huge jump to make, not huge for him but for me pretty huge, and I just jump full force into his footprints with both legs, and lose my balance because the space that went up to his knee goes up to my hip, fall over and get my leg wedged between two boulders up to my upper thigh, and smash my arm against another rock. Now I'm lying in the snow, a few feet from this cliff, leg stuck and bloody, elbow sore and cut up, mildly freaking out/ in shock, but luckily he rushed over, lifts me up onto solid ground after dislodging my leg/ removing my boot then retrieving it. At this point, I'm like "Yeaaahh, that definitely could have been really bad...", he sits me on a log, cleans me off, puts my boot back on and forces me to leave the woods haha. 30 minutes later I regain feeling in my leg and it fucking killlsss, I roll my pant leg up and get that horrible "My pant leg is stuck to my leg because of dried blood" feeling. Sliced it open in a few spots. My ankle is busted too, lots of pain. Awesome adventure, glad to not have fallen off a fucking cliff. Share your stories!
whats not comfortable about being short? taller you are the more likely you are to have knee and back problems.. im glad im short.. though i already have bad knees and my back is always sore
When I was about 8 and friend and I were swimming in a swimming pond where no lifeguard is on duty. Well, we are using noodles, and I fall off of it, and I was not a good swimmer, I began to drowned and my life was flashing before my eyes. My friend who was 2 years older than me pulled me out and his mom threw me on the sand to get the water out of my chest.
Being short makes me more likely to fall off cliffs? BUT, less likely to get hit in the head with branches . He always calls me a peanut but you're right, being short does have it's advantages, fuck tall people.
Yo ythats sketchy as fuck ur so liuckey im happy ur alive. people do dumb shit. I got in a car wreack once, woke up and i was hanging from the cenllening looking down at my dAD in a pile of blood and oil... i ythought he was dead but he only lost some blood and spilit his shoulder blade and i broe me col.lar bone. we wrer driving and a deer jumpedx in the road so me dad hit the breaks and went "wOOOOOOH!!!" then another car from the other lane hit us and f;ipped uds over. that's how dad lost the blood and i ended up hanging from my seatbeldt. i was 5
you got a more stable center of gravity when you're shorter too.. unless you just cant balance.. then i suggest buying a pair of New Balance's
in 5th grade i was playing guns with a stick. i tripped and fell on the stick. it cut a big hole in my chest that required 23 stitches. the "near death" part was that it was 1/4 inch away from puncturing my lung. don't run with sticks kids!
When i was six at wonderland the belt i was wearing for the rollercoaster came out and i literally had to ride the entire thing with nothing holding me in but centrifugal force
Lol, that happened to my friend once and the rollercoaster we were on had a small hill that made you kinda raise up, then a tunnel right after it. I looked over and I just see my friend riasing up... looked ahead... saw tunnel... "oh shit!" lol, I had to grab him and push him down.
this past summer around july 4th i was in Cabo and went deep sea fishing in a really bad storm. cabo closed the marina two hours after we left and i was reallllly scared shitless out there there were waves bigger than the boat i was in (about a 24' long boat that was maybe 12-14ft out of the water. i had a choclate muffin for breakfast and up chucked it all over the little ass bathroom cuz i was sea sick(chocolate throuw-up all over a toilet just imagine what i looked like) need less to say i will never go deep sea fishing again
Stella, technically what you experienced was nearly a near death experience. " Moody recorded and compared the experiences of 150 persons who died, or almost died, and then recovered. His research describes the results of decades of inquiry into the NDE phenomenon. He outlines nine elements that generally occur during NDEs. A strange sound: A buzzing, or ringing noise, while having a sense of being dead. Peace and painlessness: While people are dying, they may be in intense pain, but as soon as they leave the body the pain vanishes and they experience peace. Out-of-body experience: The dying often have the sensation of rising up and floating above their own body while it is surrounded by a medical team, and watching it down below, while feeling comfortable. They experience the feeling of being in a spiritual body that appears to be a sort of living energy field. The tunnel experience: The next experience is that of being drawn into darkness through a tunnel, at an extremely high speed, until reaching a realm of radiant golden-white light. Also, although they sometimes report feeling scared, they do not sense that they were on the way to hell or that they fell into it. Rising rapidly into the heavens: Instead of a tunnel, some people report rising suddenly into the heavens and seeing the Earth and the celestial sphere as they would be seen by astronauts in space. People of light: Once on the other side of the tunnel, or after they have risen into the heavens, the dying meet people who glow with an inner light. Often they find that friends and relatives who have already died are there to greet them. The Being of Light: After meeting the people of light, the dying often meet a powerful spiritual being whom some have identified as God, Jesus, or some religious figure. The life review: The Being of Light presents the dying with a panoramic review of everything they have ever done. That is, they relive every act they have ever done to other people and come away feeling that love is the most important thing in life. Reluctance to return: The Being of Light sometimes tells the dying that they must return to life. Other times, they are given a choice of staying or returning. In either case, they are reluctant to return. The people who choose to return do so only because of loved ones they do not wish to leave behind." http://www.near-death.com/experiences/experts03.html and the wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near_death_experience Raymond Moody did a lot of research into NDE's, and its truly astounding. it seems that once we figured out CPR, electrically shocking the heart back to life, and drug stimulation to restore life, people started "coming back" with crazy stories. the crazy thing is, the stories were eerily similar. i read one of his books (either life after life, or reflections on life after life, i don't quite remember) and it was enlightening. almost made me want to die a little, just to find out. im glad you're ok. I have never had an NDE. the closest i came was when i was in the hospital waiting to have my twins. my organs started to shut down, but i don't remember if i had an NDE because it could have just been the drugs.
All kinds of crazy shit has happened to me... (Usually cause I use to be a big adrenaline junkie) Probably the most resent thing was when I went pheasant hunting with a friend, and a bird went up, he tracked it right... he's gun was tracking right into my face, lol and im watching this kinda like in slow motion, and im thinking "holy shit, he's all pumped up and shit, he doesn't even realize im in the way" I can see he's finger tighting and I just ducked to the side, and sure as shit, he shot half a second later, I could feel the heat and shit... I almost killed that sob..
Lol i hate those rides they always just turn into a spit war, of one side spitting on the other and shit.. Its dirty
Thanks for comforting me jackass. I'm 6'2 at 14 yrs. And I already have horid posture. Jeez Stella that sounds like a beautiful place, and a scary experience. I wish we had places like that near my house.. Not to mention snow, we got a few inches last week and it was a HUGE deal. Everybody up north must laugh at us, 3" and we miss school for 2 days...
I feel your pain. I'm 6'3". My dad's chiropractor told him that tall people are pretty much screwed in the back/posture dept because furniture and chairs are designed for shorter people. As for near death experiences, I've overdosed. It was lame.
Riding down my steep driveway at the age of 5 I came up with a brillant but challenging quest stop my bike with my feet while going down the driveway into the street. Ready set go! I hit my feet against the driveway doesn't seem to be stopping me, quick feet on the pedals and slam them in reverse to stop. Boom I get smacked by a on coming car that flings me 15 ft in the air and slams me into my bushes that take up half my lawn. I suffered only a broken leg and a head contusion. luckily I wasnt wearing my helmet and i have no idea how I landed in the bushes but it saved my life. my brother said I loooked like a kite flying into a green airplane. he thought i was so died
