I don't think there has ever been a Narnia thread in here [at least not since i started frequenting this place]... just kinad waned to know what people thought of them-- me, I like them even though i am just getting really interested in them--they are good [kids] books, and have fairly universal themes for children in them. and well you don't really need to expose the Christian supposational material if you didn't want to, but it is there if you want it to use for whatever use you see fit
Narnia is evil. It was written by Christian apologist C.S. Lewis, whose befuddled mind has lead many others into foolish acceptance of half truths, at the behest of our diabolical Lord of Lords, King of Kings. Cynical existence, crucifixion You will give praise to Satan Lord of lords, kind of kings Spread your wings Haunted by the righteous one, bent on my repention Crucifixion Lucifer, save me from destruction Holy priest that can't confirm, shun the cross of evil Violent but undisturbed, wait for thee invertion
I feel pretty neutral about these books... much like Harry Potter, I think they're great stories. I tried reading them now and the writing of C.S. Lewis is very dated...it's like reading T.S. Eliot. I appreciate it, but the children talk like little English adults. Good stories though. Haven't seen the movie and will probably just rent it
Brother, I think I'm one of your biggest fans..... however, I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. Have you had a shift in philosophy here? I'm confused. This is the icon for confused:
I love fans! I still believe the same things, but I feel differently (better) about them. I have a higher vantage point of the same things, my understanding has been lifted by what I have seen. Instead of looking sideways at my experiences, I look down upon them from a higher vantage point. I feel greater freedom from confusion, greater clarity.
I really liked the Narnia books. I used to give them to my little brother for his birthday, so I could read them myself *evil me*. But they are great, I think, although the Christian symbology sometimes is way too much.
