I think it would be cool to have my own religion and the basis of that religion would be to love one another. That's it. I guess it would be more of a philosophy than a religion. It would involve a vow to think for yourself, question authority, even mine, and love one another. No violence, just peace and kindness. No preaching to how they should act or what gods they should pray to, that is for the individual to decide. Peace and love
If I was a teacher of my philosophy, I would introduce different religious philosophies into a type of workshop. I think I would include passages from every major religion and some that are not so major. Love would be the key. There are many paths that lead to the same destination... Peace and love
i once had an assignment to come up with my own religion. It was the best religion ever. i got an A on it. it was fucking awsome. i wish i had my own religion. it would be called "Dieterism" PWNage
Part of this sounds like humanism to me - something I would definitely support. Probably a deeper approach than that of religion would be needed. The way I see it, everyone is unique, and the path is unique to the individual. But you got the key thing right -Love!!!
That is why I would encourage people to take the parts from other religions and make it part of their spirituality. Let them choose what works for them in their life. Peace and love
This reminds me of that scene in Donnie Darko where the child molester tries to convince everyone that all of their problems are due to fear, and that you can solve all your problems if you would only accept love.
I'd asume that a child molesters idea of love would be pretty twisted. Also this isn't actually a child molester, but an actor saying words written by a dramatist.
This is a great idea, because from love comes the universal knowledge of the what's right and what's wrong, and specific commandments are no longer needed. But wouldn't this require people to think for themselves, unlike majority of the religions which ask for blind faith? That's not love, that's lust...
actually, it's a pretty twisted form of lust even. love doesn't need 'universal knowledge' - it just happens, it just is.
Sorry, I didn't say it needs knowledge; Please read again what I said: So, in other words, universal knowledge comes when you experience sincere love...
how are you supposed to love people who you dont know... love comes from liking a persons personality A LOT... tbh i personally dont think love cums that easily... but go with what you feel x x x
You can love people that you don't like. Love the divine within. It's the same thing that resides within yourself. Peace and love
I would call it Seeker's Society. It would be a group that would discuss the deeper meaning to different spiritual texts and the meaning that it has in our lives. Peace and love
You aren't loving their personalities. That is their ego, their false self. What you are loving is the Divine which is the conciousness, the I. There is a big difference between the self and the I. Peace and love
once one knows how to love, s/he feels the love in his/her heart automatically when comes face to face with a person who deserves love. there will be a few hitches to teach him/her the wisdom involving false alarms, however after a while things should pack neatly.
