I love it... I have no criticism, only praise. This is a self portrait, I think... You're such a beautiful girl, even on canvas!

I love the red hue of your lips and the one eye peeking out. Very vampy & sexy, yet you purify it with the nails driven through your palm.

Do they represent the trinity, or am I just reading waaay too much into it?

    I think it's brilliant, nevertheless.

Ha!! Cool! I didn't see the "self portrait" part until hippievixen mentioned it, but now that she did, yes it really does look very much like a self portrait. NOW I get the nails, I didn't recognize them as nails right off the bat. Doh! Awesome painting! Love it.

I did have to hold my palm out to reconcile the positioning of it. LOL Imagine me sitting here holding my palm to the screen. :p

you are right, it WAS somewhat of a self portrait.

the nails are more of a symbol, they arent going through my palm. They represent the 3 nails used in crucifixion, one through each hand, and one through both feet. That's pretty cool you thought of the trinity!

    thanks so much Vixen.

actually, it's both. It's because of love that Jesus shed his blood. Double meanings.

thanks, and yes. All dirt cheap materials. This one is bigger than the rest so far, so it's nice to have one that's more expensive because of the size, and the fact that it's a self portrait.

You are a good critique, Vixen. HUG

    i hope this is constructive....

it's the hand that bugs me, it looks too "real" compared to the characature of the face and body...i think it's the fingers, they look almost spindly whereas the rest of the picture is solid and vibrant :)

other than that lil' quibble, a stunning piece seahorse, as always....especially like the effect of the hair, very good brush work considering your choice of pallette....very nice indeed :)

you know...the hand bugs me too. I might make my fingers skinnier before actually selling it. They look too fat or something lol

thanks so much for your honesty and critique! hugs
