She's been writing this jerk-off on a regular basis regarding various issues she feels are important. She has always been polite and offered well reasoned arguments. I write him too, and he consistently offers amazingly condescending replies explaining how foolish I am and why he has no interest in listening to me. Mom finally got sick of it and decided to get a bit hostile with the sarcasm: June 16, 2005 Congressman John Boehner House of Representatives Washington, DC Dear John: Thank you for contacting me regarding my recent letter concerning PBS/NPR funding. It is always good to hear from you and become aware of my ignorance on almost every topic as well as the errors of my reasoning; I am indeed grateful that such an important figure regularly takes the time to correct and instruct an insignificant constituent. Without your guidance I would not have known that "...cable television and other resources are making public television and radio somewhat obsolete." I would have continued to believe that free access to public television's airing of history, arts, drama, and science programs by less economically privileged citizens, especially children, was a good thing, since these folks can't usually afford cable service. As for "other resources," I'm guessing you mean the Internet and such. Once again, I would have thought it desirable for those lacking disposable income for computer systems and service providers to be able to turn to public television as a source of information and enrichment. I suppose they can always walk to their local library, assuming it is still open, and sign on for the allotted 30 minutes. Thanks for opening my eyes. But most enlightening, and I thank you for clarifyting this for me, is your explanation for your reluctance to support funding--that "we are in an age of tough, responsible federal budgeting" and that you "simply cannot ask Americans to accept other spending cuts" while continuing to fund public broadcasting. Why, I had no idea! Here I thought the dissipation of a budget surplus and the expenditure of billions of dollars to initiate and maintain a war on a sovereign nation was wasteful and irresponsible. But thanks to your diligence, I now know better. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge and astute insights into complex problems with me. Please continue to keep me from straying from the path of wisdom. Together we can work to assure that no wealthy white child is left behind. In gratitude,
Sorry, I'll try to more racist, sexist, elitist, etc. I know that caring about poor people is a disturbing concept.
yes, because if you arent liberal youre racist, sexist, elitist, etc right? what was the point of her letter? im not understanding what shes trying to get across really here
it must be the hillbilly blood....... screws up a lot of perceptions, I know I myself am absolutly flustered by the difference between eggshell and tope......
hey I decided a long time ago that Iraq was the middle east's answer to arkansas, firing guns in the air to celebrate, forming militias at the drop of a hat, george bush was just pissed that cousin muhommed got his cousin sally at the family reunion all those years ago, now he wants vengeance hillbillism knows no racial boundaries......
ok. considering i was born and raised in houston, tx which happens to be one of the largest cities in the country, how am i a hillbilly hippy boy?
aight hippy here we go. it isnt the governments job to fund any network, thats a waste of tax dollars. why should we use our tax dollars for some fuckin channel? just because you think we should? uhhh no. they could use advertisement to pay for it. its very easy to be caring and compassionate with other peoples money isnt it? If you feel strongly about pbs, you should write a check and send it in to help fund it instead of spending taxpayer dollars to fund a crappy network.
george bush went to an ivy league school, he's a hillbilly....... no matter how you dress one up a hillbilly is a hillbilly is a hillbilly...... break out the bailing wire........
quote: ok. considering i was born and raised in houston, tx which happens to be one of the largest cities in the country, how am i a hillbilly hippy boy? Well lets think about this, because you are from Texas? You really have to make an effort not to be one in that environment. Good letter, to me this is outrageous, and I ain't even a hippy.
i knew it! you're texan, and hispanic. ugh. i live in lubbock, which is a little different from houston, but still breeds the same sort of ppl. thought your attitude sounded familiar.... you're not a hillbilly or a hippy, you're a southerner, and mexican, probably catholic, republican, who probably is a huge fan of football, and Bush. hmmmm... how's that for stereotyping? ......................................................................................... aaanyway, i loved the letter too. i hope the guy doesn't take toooo much offense though, but instead opens his eyes a bit to see that his condescending attitude is not productive, to say the least, and i do hope he reconsiders your mom's other suggestions and all that.. or at least makes an effort to respond in a nicer, more intelligent, manner than he apparently has been.
