So tonight I'm having my sister's boyfriend, and his friend over for dinner since they helped me move last weekend. Kevin, my sister's boyfriend has eaten many of my meals, and requested this menu:

I'm starting off with spinach, feta, and mozzarella bread. Topped with an egg wash, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. I made the dough yesterday in my spare time.

The main course will be fettucini alfredo made with fresh fettucini, butter, cream, and fresh parmesan reggiano. I made the meatballs this morning which are a combination of ground pork, ground beef, parsley, parmesan, onion, garlic, woresteshire, salt/pepper, oregano. Stuffed with fresh mozzarella balls, and fried in butter and olive oil, then baked until done.

I'm serving it with garlic bread.

In a few minutes I'm going to make my first batch of strawberry margaritas with fresh strawberrys, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and salt.

:) Wish I could invite some of you over to smoke with me after this nice meal.

it sounds really good.....but i've never heard of strawberry margaritas. they sound good, but i would probably choose something different to accompany that type of meal.

maybe a tripel or something. or wine....

but damn that food sounds phenomenal....i might have to try making cheese stuffed meatballs sometime, it sounds incredible....

Yea it's not meant to go with the meal. Just a little fun for me and my mom. The 25 year olds that will be here aren't really into wine.. ;)

I made alfredo last night, and it was made vegan with tofu and butter replacer. It actually came out preatty damn well if i do say so myself. But im sure it was nothing in comparison to what yours will be like Renne. And that bread sounds to die for. Ive never had homemade bread.

I'm thawing pasta sauce made a couple weeks ago... w/w pasta... probably grill up some boneless breast to go along with. I ought to make garlic bread... maybe next time.

No drinks for me. I'll probably have a couple glasses of wine tomorrow when I visit friends. Gonna drop of some of my sauce for next weeks' superbowl party. His wife is making lasagna! That woman is a culinary artist!

I've never used a bread machine. I use a food processor to form dough out of olive oil, yeast/water/sugar combo, and flour, and then you knead it and let it rise for an hour. Then you cut it in half and let it rise a bit more, and then you can roll it out. It's really easy, and really tasty. My bread tonight was incredibly flaky and soft. It was awesome.

The key to making alfredo sauce work is to stir constantly. Melt 1 stick butter over medium low heat, and then gradually stir in a pint of cream. Stir until it starts to thicken, and then slowly add a container of parmesan cheese. You know the fresh kind, and not the dried powder crap in the can. And you keep stirring constantly until your pasta is done. You can add shrimp and garlic, or mushrooms, or chicken, or anything to it too.

I love tequila too nesta! But I don't like it plain. :)

She can't be too great a culinary artist if she doesn't make her own sauces. ;)

Both she and her husband are good in the kitchen and they both make decent tomato/pasta sauces... they just prefer mine. I can't fault them for having good taste! :D

Can you send me the recipe for that bread renne? It sounds amazing, and if you dont need a bread maker, i would love to try my hand at making some homemade bread. And I lost the link to your food blog. There were a few recipes on there i wanted to try.
