My day and thoughts today

I sit here near a half wheel typing this into the jotter of my mobile phone whilst also listening to 'acid theatre' by 'the Kovenant' on it and enjoying a can of 'Tennants super'.

I ask myself, 'Is this what us hippie headbanging bikers have become?!?'.

The sun is setting and my thoughts wonder to the west as usual where it now sets and a spiritual message is sent.

If this is so, then the wiccan / spiritual side of me isn't all lost lol.

I sometimes as throughout my life have sent wishes with the setting sun on the right phase of the moon which is almost full in the Eastern sky.

Has 2000 turned us into techno or cyber hippies? Why can't for once i leave my mobile at home instead of usually being out there playing games on it, listening to music or watching video's on it???

Odd innit?!? ( + typical and more to the point, I now borrow the bluetooth usb off my friend so I can get the photo on here.. how sad is some of us and what we have become instead of opening ourselves to nature around us ).

Yup, technology does progress but why do we become slaves unto it sometimes without realising it?

But yes, you are right in ways, but to me all this stuff is an addiction like Alch became. Only by realising that problem have I realised what other things in my life have taken over it. Being out there or going for walks and not taking any tech with me,.. I think that would do me good occasionally lol.

As for you though, you do have an active life and are on the go fighting the good fight and dealing with life . You let the net be a part of your life and not controlling it. So you are fine our in forum light bringer . And yes, peoples Needs... well, with maybe a tiny bit of people wants lol.

I realize the abundance of good that technology has brought to us, yet it still bothers me when I see so much of it everywhere. When CGI images were first in movies, it was like "WOW!" Now, they're replacing actors and being used in commercials everyday. It's like it's just ho-hum now.
I don't have a cell phone - I abhor them. My life is boring enough that people know I'm either at home or at work. I have an answering machine (not "voice mail" it's a machine that answers for you, it's not a mail box that traps voices) and if something is important you can leave me a message. I'll get it and call you back on MY time, rather than have someone intrude on me. I think cell phones are basically human leashes. Everyone who has your number can reach you anywhere you go, and frankly, I don't want people to be able to do that. I want to go out, do my own thing, and enjoy freedom from hearing people's blather.
Of course, the good with the bad. I use the computer very frequently (albeit more to play video games and post on this site as opposed to anything else) but just as a rule, I really don't care for how much of a generation of slaves to technology my generation has become. If I were to never use another computer again, it wouldn't devastate me. In fact, I think I'd be able to concentrate on the more important (i.e. spiritual) aspects of life. Just my two cents.

I abhor the people that can't turn off their cell phones! I prefer to remain hard to find at some moments. ~lurklurk~

lol, This ditty was brought on by getting knocked offline for 12 days, my longest absence since I've had the beast 5yrs ago. I think junkies are better behaved when looking for a shot. Lottsa whining, foot stamping and pouting ensued along with laughter cause it was silly over the top. Luckily a lil gf of mine reminded me I still had the old original 20gig harddrive that originally came before we Frankensteined it. And even luckier (((((((( Danman )))))))))
made a floppy back up because this p.o.s. (piece of shit) won't boot off the original recovery discs either. So I sit, looking up at the disarray that is my beloved puter, with the sides off, the 150gig HD sitting there dormant and the old 20gig one laying in the bottom in its protective bag at the bottom of my tiny tower, wondering if the 30gigs of music is gone forever along with my personal pics of my kids...just have to be patient, I know theres a way

LOL, I would miss my PC, like I would broadband now as it'd be like cutting off my right arm I've sort of gotten used to computers, games and technology throughout all my life lol. But you're right about all this computer crap being used to replace actors sometimes. Doesn't always werk lol.

Oh about your drive GD, put it in WITH the other drive, you can get all info and stuff off it that way as a second drive if the HDD bios isn't crapped out

It won't *expeletive deleted* I need a different belt (whatever that is actually called) and a bigger tower..this one is tiny and only has one fan. It's not toast. WinXP seems to have crashed (Win32 driver error if I recall correctly) and I been too lazy to undo, redo from one HD to the next. Everytime I do I have to reboot this drive from the floppy we made. I'm just gonna run Linnux on the big one when I get it resolved better. LOL, or you could come fix it and we can get Rider here as your personal assistant (I'm sure she has the right look for that as well, hehe). Since I (might) have yer attn for a sec....You have any clue why in sam hell mozilla keeps poofing my focking bookmarks? I didn't see anything helpful on their site but this is the second time and I live thrive on my many many bookmarks. LOL, take a page from me, temp put your other hard drive dangling anywhere, 1 of my drives isn't in a propper slot, I just popped it on top of my DVD drive or dangled it down inside temp as I accessed that one cos I ran outta drive bays ha ha, ( no didn't harm it ha ha ). If you've run outta IDE or raid leads if thats what you meant then unplug your CD drive and plug the bad drive in on those leads temp there. Yes, you need a new case with a decent PSU and plenty of cooling .

Mozilla, Not a clue as I don't use it lol, sorry about that. I bet our Hip forum rider could Jeanie blink it better if you asked nice lol . I've never used bookmarks either actually,I just add links to favourites, unless bookmarks are like that lol?. But, if someone reading what you posted knows about it, I'm sure they'll post . I'll ask someone actually and let you know if they know the answer.

Yup, what you wrote is true though . IS has been with me for quite some time since I did an indepth reading with my little used 'lord of the rings oracle' . I sort of needed to remind myself of the lesson in ways and get it out again, and here on this thread helped me concentrate more on it once again and remind myself of myself, as I was getting a bit lost again in life. ( Still am a bit lol, but I'm mending lol ). And life is but a moment, but our perception of it sometimes... it seems to drag way too long sometimes. But then again, when we get older and hit certain points in our life, we usually think 'What the hell, its 2005?!? Thought it was still 2003, what the heck month is it !!' and generally freak out etc lol. Oh well, I'm just rambling on now, will go and seek lol.

LOL~! glad for the repost..too cute and true! I have one, but it's for MY convenience. The sucker is turned off almost alla the time. Actually its one of the things that had to go during my finanial stress which sucks 'cause that was my long distance service. pfft~
