Right my class in college is so friggin' sexist!! there's only 4 girls in my class and they can't be arsed to do anything! I can't do something on my own! What should I do? :$
I'm, sorry, but what? Do you mean you're in a group with them for an assignment, they won't do any work and you can't do a project by yourself? Or is it something else that you mean? Lazy chicks doesn't mean your class is sexist, it just means that they're lazy... unless there are some details i'm missing out on here
Well if you're saying what i think you are, I would say talk to them about it. If they still can't be bothered to do any of the work then you'll have to talk to your teacher, tell him/her your group are not doing any work. Maybe you could ask to be in a different group if you don't work well with them.
uhh.. its the equivalent of high school, IG. Check her age. lazy twits would be my guess....and HOW does that make the class sexist, again?
OH!! i see now! i think you're right, daisymae! ig, go eat some hoho's or something. lol. anyway, more women are accepting biased behavior towards themselves. you can't really rely on them for anything. stand for yourself, maybe set a good example.
oops sorry i've made a mess of stuff. Right I'm one of the 4 girls in my class and they rest of the class are boys. The boys keep making sexist comments about girls and it's really annoying! they say dumb jokes like why are girls feet so small? so they can reach the kitchen sink!!!! The other three girls are bothered by the comments but they can't be bothered to complain! :$ I try and say something but it doesn't work and they say I can't take a joke! everyone who knows me know I can! It's just that I care about these things but I can't stop it unless other people back me up! I hope that made it a bit clearer!
Have you talked to your teacher? If your teacher won't put a stop to it, talk to the next higher-up (in the US, I guess that would be the principal, I don't know how the Brit system is set up). It is the school administration's job to deal with sexist comments, racist comments, bullying, etc. Have you talked to your parents on this? Maybe you could get them to back you up in talking to your school officials. Don't worry about whether some sexist turds think you can take a joke. I don't think the "joke" you cited here is a joke worth taking, and I would not want to be associated with anyone who found it amusing.
Yeah, what she said. And if those other girls are too dense or intimidated to speak up with you, just do it yourself. I mean, they should support you, but some people are dumb. Tell the teacher that your learning environment is hostile and sexist. Doesn't work? Tell the principal. Good luck. I used to work in a similar situation. There were only 4 women and around 100 men at my job. I was trying to stop some serious sexual harrassment and one of those other women was walking around in a "Will Work For Sex" t-shirt. What a dumb ass.
well, her profile says she's 16. I have a feeling that the education system is set up a little differently over there than here, for ages entering some of the grades/levels of schooling and peopel suck, grrr!
