They're pretty, I'll give them that. But...as far as their music is concerned, I hate the sound of pop punk/emo/anything of the sort, so...yeah...

I like all of their songs off both albums and I also like their unreleased song on the album that came with their dvd.

I think a lot of their hatred comes from the fact that they got big and landed on mtv. I think a lot more people would be open to liking them if they had never gotten mainstream.

Modern music is shit. I say that as a musician and the parent of a musician. You can divide them into three categories: Everyone sounds like Falloutboy (including MCR) or everyone sounds like Matchbox20 (yeah like they don't suck). Or they claim to be punk and care so much about social causes but play poppy shit music and have their faces plastered everywhere and play every award show (Yeah, I mean you Billie Joe and Greenday you sellouts).

So, to reiterate, modern music blows. Play some Skynyrd. Or Rachmaninoff. Don't care.

eh, they're music is alright.. I don't turn it off but I'd never spend money on it either. Their videos (at least the ones I've seen) are horrible and tacky though... he's trying to scream along with the songs recorded lyrics and it just looks awful.

Like I said, I wouldn't waste money on 'em, or the time to search for their music so I could download it

weird thing is you dont even realize the extent until you're older and away from it. i grew up in church 1 or 2 times a week every week til i was eighteen.. and omg if i didnt wanna go and wanted to sleep in..... id be grounded for a week... some weird shit DOES happen in churches...

man i have stories.. for example, we had a haunted house in our church youth center when i was seventeen and over ten people had sex in the same room. there is something so wrong with that and the bullying and just.... i cant even explain....

Maybe you should stop just listening to the radio and assuming that all modern music sounds like that.

Maybe you should stop assuming that I only listen to the radio and form my opinions based on whatever "Jack FM" is playing.

OTOH my statement was completely directed at what Jack FM DOES play because statistics have shown that the majority of the masses listen to that shit. You hear it, you buy it, you perpetuate it, you are sheep. Welcome to the land of consumerism. Good luck with that, huh?

For the record, I listen almost exclusively to Sirius and CDs, mostly Left of Center and Hard Atak, though the classic rock stations are great. I support local music and anything that does NOT sound like My Chemical Romance, Matchbox20 or Greenday. So yeah I guess my anger with "modern music" directed at Infinity/Viacom and Clearchannel. I think the bigger issue is, "Why am I bothering?" since most of you have no idea what I am talking about because you've been spoonfed horseshit all your lives and you don't know any better. Antithesis, you are probably the exception, I imagine you enjoy Coheed and Cambria and the like, as do I. I only said Skynyrd because that was what I was listening to at the time.

And since I'm here, STOP WORSHIPPING JIM MORRISON!!! He was an untalented, arrogant, asshole who did nothing innovative to change music except whip his dick out on stage in Miami. Yeah, that took talent, my son did it regularly. When he was 4.
