My bicycle is in the Saint-Laurent River, and has been for the past 4 years. It was fun to ride it into the sea, since I didn't have enough cash flow to transport it to Montreal with me at the time - but I've been feeling pretty empty and cave-womanish without my bike these days. Maybe it's the warm weather, but I want to ride like the wind on a mountain bike and get lost somewhere. What does your bike look like? And how much do you think you would spend on a new one?
I just spend $1400 on this guy but it retails at about 3 grand so I think I got a good deal on it. Here's some sailing through the woods on a mountain bike shots of me for ya to get some biking inspiration back!
I dont ride much anymore but my daughter has 2 of those old fashioned schwinns with the springy seats...aristartle..has the heart and stroke bike built for 30 been to moonbeam yet?...it travels around ontario..it was here[perth] last week..you can get on and ride for a small donation
found this and thought it was cool...Jano dual bike...made from special plywood..stronger than kevlar
Yeah, the H&S has gone through London. But I only had time to train for the dragon boat races for local park conservation efforts. Man, those boats and person on the back drumming were so much fun. Anyway, I love the bike skierdood!!! You dominate it. Haha. I thought the your looked a little big in the first pic, until I saw you riding it in your other pics. You look like a big guy dominating a trike. Haha. Want to go ride bikes? I'll pack sammiches.
Yeah I like the bike to be a little smaller of a fit so I can have it dance under me a bit easier. And of course I will ride bikes with you, especially if sammiches are involved.
Yeah, I rode it drunk off a dock into the sea. My friends laughed for months. I hope an orca whale didn't try and eat it. It probably came in with the tide because it was very close to the shore, anyway. I like cruisers - I think they're cute - but they are too expensive and most of them have crappy speed settings. I saw a few with 7 speeds but totally out of my price range. Bleh.
I don't think a whale would eat it, yet again they don't even chew their food so who knows.... One on the site was only $200.My friend decided to blow like $500 on hers last summer and she got hit by a bus while riding it once.hahaha.If you knew her you'd laugh too.
I had the biggest bruises from riding around drunk in the Gaspé region of Québec that summer. I had this giant welt on my thigh when I was drunk because I was riding as fast as I could going home for lunch from school and I flipped over forwards and my thigh rammed into my handlebar. Bahaha. Was your friend at least wearing clean undies?
One good thing about this town is the bike trails. Unfortunately, I have a mountain bike that is a bit too small for me, and I need something designed for smooth level asphalt trails. And a trailer to pull my kid around in.
Haha probably. She's the funniest person I know, so just picturing a big, funny girl getting tipped over my the bus makes me laugh.
My bike is 21 speeds and is a racing bike, but I use it on trails and around town. I love it. I put a spedometer and mile counter on it. I love to see how fast I can go.
Just got one of these off of craigslist for $150 about 2 weeks ago. I had been looking for a bike just to get me to and from work and keep me in shape. The guy put brand new tires and breaks on them so I think it was a great deal, don't know much about bikes, don't really care, was happy to pay it. Rides great!
No problem! I love cragislist. So many people have a "if you want to come pick it up its yours" policy. It can be great, til you're ripped off or murdered.
here's a pic of what i'm riding around: what's pictured is a schwinn continential '74, but the one I have is a '79, I think. same color. it's heavy as shit, but makes it real sturdy and solid when flying down hills. i love to really open 'er up and see how fast i can go on flat ground. it's great when i pass cars! it was a mixed blessing years ago when my mountain bike got stolen. if it werent for that, i would have never got a road bike and never would have known the pleasure of efficiency on the road.
