Well, I'm new to these forums...and I am pretty right wing...but, as the forum name says...its free speech...so, my to cents on business are...

Well...you gotta think for a second, if it wasn't for business, where would we all be right now? We'd be working in little mom and pops shops working our @$$es off to buy imported stuff from other regions of the globe because there would be no big companies to cash in on farming. There wouldn't have been labor unions because there would've been no factory workers in the 1800s and thus, there wouldn't be much standards in our mom and pops stores. Also, we wouldn't have the computers we're typing on...there'd either be no World Wide Web or it'd be a military secret. There'd be no social classes based on wealth, which, in most cases could reap benefits, but there'd be no goals of achieving a higher level of life than you already had. It'd be the start to a system of communism, where your pay accounted to the entire country and was distributed back, but with corrupt leader that'd steal loads of it. We'd have to raise our own food...that'd mean a field with maybe two cows and corn...and that's if you're among the wealthier.

But, on the other side of the coin...there is a lot of corruption in business, a lot of monopolies. A lot of people who have worked there whole lives for somethin get struck down everyday by the lucky ones...the ones who got their unfair shares from relatives or friends.

So, my solution...I'm not down with ending big businees, because it's vital to the upkeep of the US...but, what needs to bedone is stricter business laws.

Well, just let me know if you have any counter-opinions...I'll be happy to debate (well, let's be PC) exchange views with anyone.

Im not sure if you are mistaking "business" for multi-national corporations and globalization etc.. Of course we need "business" in the sense of commerce, markets and systems of trade to sustain a community/city. So "business" is just too vague of a term to argue upon. We should get most of our food from outside the city not from 1000s of miles away or across the ocean just cause its slightly cheaper meanwhile huge ships and trucks pollute to get it here, its madness...no wonder we need more oil.

People are working there asses off right now, work weeks getting longer (mandatory in cases), sweat shops and unfavourable work conditions still exist on a global scale, of course not in your neighbourhood.

I think you dont fully understand communism as form economics...plus why does the leader of the communist country HAVE to be corrupt? (thats US propoganda still forming your opinion) But agree that communism hasnt really worked and wouldnt work for us. Its not a dirty word, its a legit form of economics/government. Its false and "slippery slope" to say that "no business" leads to communism. I think you mean Free Market.

"Stricter business laws" is just Bush's simple answer to avoid fixing the real problems/issues..but ya they obvioulsy have to be done among other things.

Do you think "social classes based on wealth" are a positive thing?

The problem with "achieving a higher standard of life than you already have" is that how do you define that..whats a better standard of life? Less time with family and watching TV and internet all day and eating whatever you want. bit of an exaggeration there, ha.

Corporations and globalization are destoying the planet and cultures and control a large part of the media...Check this link out of censorship in the media, Ads against Mcdonalds being unhealthy wont be aired etc.. http://mediacarta.org/ad_fight.html

I think the U.S can "upkeep" itself without world domination and without controlling the whole worlds resources, we have so much here for ourselves. BUT the big issue is that companies want to sell us more and more and more and more because the bottom line in a business is profit with no accountablity to anyone (as above corporation with rights), no accountabilty to environment etc. Dont you think its stupid that there are commercials for products for all these "new" products that are just packaged differently or a new flavour or one i seen today, new Pringles with a message on each chip, for real, written on the chip, that messed up, and im a sucker for the TV and end up consuming crap all the time..work, work, work so we can spend spend spend, i dont think its a healthy existence. i should stop here as im clearly going on a tangent, ill start being a negative dick.

I have a bad writing habit of talking as i have shit figured out, but im just trying to state what i think and have learned.

My opinion is that you can't possibly know what would happen if we didn't have this or that. It's all just speculation. And I'd be happy with spending my life grazing off the land

no way man. the government has been feeding us lies to make us think that communism is bad. its not actual communism thats bad, its red communism like china and russia that is bad. the government wants us to think its bad, so most people dont realize that its a beter government solution then our corrupted government here.

I'm all for humane corporations that respect global and universal life.

The problem with laws is that for the global elite they aren't enforced.

Large corporations have already bought our government anyways, hence the loose laws and rare enforcement of them.

Its simple really. Hi mr lawmaker. I will make you rich, and you pass a law to make me richer. Then ill pay you more, and we can keep this game going for generations!
