What did you listen to when you were a kid? I don't mean like 13 or 16.

What did you listen to when you were like 7 -10? If you listen to that music now does it seem different?

My favourite band when I was growing up was KISS.

Now that I've grown up and I've had sex I've come to the conclusion that the guys in KISS were genius's. They combined cool costumes, rock music, and sex. That's probably the ultimate combination of all things in the world.

To me there is nothing better than sitting with a special chick and throwing on Rock 'N Roll over or Love Gun.

incubus is still my band and will always be in spite of the terrible light grenades album. and i will always acknowledge the beauty of mariah carey's voice, she is incredible, though im just less into r&b than i used to but i still dig it

    spice girls too :p

When I was little I listened to a lot of old country music, like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, etc.. it's what my grandma listened to and so I grew up with it.
eventually pop music a little later.. ew

The first CD I deliberately asked someone to get for me was a Backstreet Boys single.

Then the Will Smith - Big Willie CD.

I wasn't very interested in music at all until...I guess it was fifth grade when I got a Limp Bizkit CD. That's when I got into Phase 1 of my music life, listening to the likes of Linkin Park, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Papa Roach and Eminem.

That lasted until I was 13 when I bought an Iced Earth CD.

Of that music, SOAD and RATM the machine are the only bands I have much respect for...and Eminem but to a lesser extent. I don't like RATM as much as I used to but don't mind them now again. SOAD aged very well. And I don't listen to Eminem much but when I do I like it. Hell, I dug his most recent album.

I just had a flashback!!! Holy shit!

Okay. One day me and my family were driving home from a family reunion and my dad had The Wall playing in the car (he's a huge Floyd fan) and I said "turn this off, this music is so boring".

And him and my mom kept laughing and he said "One day your gonna find yourself listening to Pink Floyd, trust me it happens to everybody". I said "No I won't I don't like this music".

......Well.. My parents were right, I did find Pink Floyds music and damn... I love it and have loved it ever since I started listening to them like 2 years ago.

Damn my Dad... He knows so much about music he even predicted what I'd listen to.

.....And was right about it.

I listened to the stuff my dad listened to when i was like 4-7 (pink floyd, rush, zeppelin, etc) and then from like 8-11 i listened to whatever everyone else listened to. Eminem, Blink 182, Nelly, Sum 41, etc. nothing good really. then from then on i started not caring what anyone else listened to and realized what good music was

I listened to a lot of Led Zeppelin, some Alex Cooper, Steely Dan, Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, of course The Beatles, a lot of Mo-Town, Sting, Jimi Hendrix

They pretty much stuck with me in what I listened to from then on, but I got into rock stuff like At the Drive-In, Mars Volta, Minus the Bear, and from there went into hiphop, thanks mainly to Common and Kanye West's first albums.
