you know mudras are pretty awesome. The yogic hand postures. I've been playing with these more and more. You can really control the complete mood and feeling throughout your whole body with different mudras. There kind of like your spiritual steering wheel I'm finding.
I think I may have flirted with this. I felt a real energy in my hands when I positioned them a certain way, like two magnets or something. Also I notice when I hold a rock meditatively that there seems a current is created. A stabilizing harmony or energy flows from holding the rock, almost like I feel all the forces that when into creating the rock.
Actually I just stumbled upon these a few months ago and recently have began to look at them more seriously. Apparently there are different mudras for different purposes(of course) but also there are mantras to accompany them to unleash their full potential. These techniques are ancient and have been traditional in Hinduism, Buddhism and Zen Buddhism as well as relations to Shinto. If your interested in information look around for Kuji-In or Vajrayana, from what I know these are the most common names, Vajrayana being the most formal. www.Kujiin.com has a quality introduction and there are a few quality videos on youtube.
Ive been just playing with different hand postures to try and figure out my own it worries me to learn them from a book cause, I sort of want to verify the validity of the mudra by me coming up with it by just feeling it through my body first I find that you start off basic and see how those feel, then build them up. Like go through and touch each finger to your thumb, see how each one feels. Then touch each finger to each other finger, one at a time, see how those feel. Then curl the fingers place the hands differently, see how those feel. I'm finding you can completely control all the circuitry of your body with the different hand postures burnabowl, I know what you mean. I always find quartz crystal quite interesting in that way.
