I just moved back to Texas and i have really bad sinuses right now and my uncle said that i am not used to the pollen and since i moved here i have had way more sinuse problems than usual. My uncle told me that i should have some local honey and it would help.. What do you guys think?
My nose is hurting now... That is a really good idea i was really thinking about getting some mucinex i hate feeling like shit and having to go to work at the same time.... but i also hate taking meds. I do smoke still though.... sometimes when im high i guess i just don't pay attention to it and i feel ok.
Saline nasal spray, the non drug type, feels nice when my nasal passages dry out from constant running and blowing. Also, if you dust and vacuum it will reduce airborne particles that might irritate your respiratory system.
Local honey for curing allergies isn't an old wives tale, it actually works. It works much in the same way a vaccination works. It introduces something to your body in such small doses that your body learns how to handle it instead of reacting badly. I started putting a tablespoon of honey in my tea every day right before the beginning of spring last year, and I didn't get any spring allergies. I usually have horrible autumn allergies but so far its been pretty mild.
Well as far as dust goes.. thats not something i can help. I work in a very dusty place.. a re-sale shop. Thats a great thing to know Meliai. Thanks.! Friday i am going to get some honey.
They say it's eating local Bee Pollen that helps, not necessarily the honey. The pollen is what is giving you a reaction (besides dust). You should douche your nose at least once a day. You can just uptake a bit of water and tilt your head sideways 45 degrees, then blow it out. You can get a Neti Pot to make this easier. The packaged saline solution I tried tasted like the soft plastic container it came in, so I don't advise that since you will likely inhale plastic in the process. If neither option works and your allergies get worse, I suggest trying generic Zyrtec - Cetirizine, which works EXCELLENT for me on my bad days. No side effect, just relief! But really if you just douche whenever it gets bad, you'll get immediate relief too.
yeah, skip is quite correct in what he is saying. where are you in texas? i'm in san antonio and, i can tell you the pollens have been quite bad this year. this has been the worst autumn allergies i have had in 30 years! weeattoes i'll give you one word of warning right now. around december the cedar will pollinate. if the allergies are this bad now, i hate to even think, what they might be like when the cedar becomes active.
Thats a really good idea. I'm taking this allergy medicine my aunt gave me it doesn't seem like i'm getting any better and i can't buy anything until Friday cause thats when i get paid.. Tonight when i get home i am gunna try to douche my nose and see how it works. Thanks for the advice skip. I am in Conroe. Its near Houston. I lived in Goliad when i was little but i didn't get allergies then. I hate to think what they are going to be like also.
I agree..... Taking drugs HELPS NOTHING!! Natural ways to deal with things ARE MUCH BETTER!! Good luck
A lot of ppl have success treating their allergies naturally by not consuming any dairy products. Try cutting back or eliminating all dairy products. You'll lose weight, and be much healthier since you won't be ingesting antibiotics, hormones and other crap they feed dairy cattle these days.
I don't have any dairy products to eat right now..... but i was planning on getting some ice cream, milk, yogurt and cheese.
Ah yes, the Neti pot for douching your nose. Just don't put tea in it! Now if you really want to get clean, yogi style, you'll swallow a 30' piece of cloth, then pull it back out your mouth once it's absorbed the crap inside...
Here's what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Taqgr2V54Zs"]YouTube - Vastra Dhauti Yup, if nothing else works, try NASAL FLOSS!
