I was wondering if I could put like 3 seeds in A container to start them off (its a 5x5x5) I was wondering if this would be ok for the plants. But once they start to vegg I would have to put them seperate containers or could I put them In one bigg container and let them grow under a 400 w hps. ( i have a small closet) I really need to know if putting more then one seed together is bad or good please help me out.

    thanks

i would assume that it depends on how big the container is, and just how far apart the plants are. it shouldn't be too big a deal as long as the growth of the plant won't interfere with strong root development or interfere with one or another plant's ability to photosynthesize. in nature plants are not given seperate buckets to grow in, they all use the same earth. however, they also have much more room to live in. so i'd assume how you'd want to do it would be to get a container capable of holding about three times the volume of soil you would use otherwise. if i'm not mistaken, most people suggest using like 10 gallon pots? i'm not sure. but of course it would need to be wider, not deeper. having plants side by side wouldn't make the roots grow farther down, i wouldn't think...

remember i don't grow pot and never have, and know relatively little about the process of it. this is just what i would expect to be true on grounds of common sense, not based in textbook fact OR experience.

    1 plant per container.

Plants grown in the same conatiner fight each other fpr water & lights, and if you have a male it will pollinate your female(s).
If you cut it down as soon as it grows balls, the rotting roots will fuck up the other plants.

i'd have thought the rotting roots would pretty quickly compost and give added nutrients to the other plants. i can see how it could be bad, though. good points i hadn't thought of.

I could see how that could be true but the thing is that If the root rots then the plant will die. I think what I am going to do is just put 3 seeds in a nice size pot, then let them grow until i have to veg them once there are ready to transplant, I will put them in seperate 3 gallon pots. Thanks for the info.

If anyone has any ideas or info that what I am doing is bad please let me know thanks alot.
