I live in Detroit with little money and no transportation, money situation will change soon as I am soon getting hired. And these gatherings sounds like something I would enjoy as city life can get depressing once in awhile with all the hate I see from day to day. Just wondering where the closest rainbow gathering would be, and maybe I could work out something to find my way there. Any info whatsoever would be extremely helpful and I would be extremely grateful, thanks.

I found a michigan rainbow site, which makes me very happy :) . And on it there's a Great Lakes Chat link that takes me to a yahoo group, not being familar with yahoo groups I guess my question would be as following. How do I become a member or said yahoo group?

It aint me...It aint me, I aint no senators son no.....
It aint me, It aint me, I aint no fortunate one...no

I was just at the Michigan Regional with some of my
friends here in Saugatuck/Fennville area, it was north
of Gaylord about 23 miles....or so......

We are going to be heading toward the Ocala Regional Rainbow
Gathering about the 1st of February, and plan on setting up
the Faerie-Krsna Cafe. We will be there for set up and the first
week and a half of the gathering, but we are going to bail
mid week and hit New Orleans before coming back to Michigan

We are also going to Colorado......In late May......and make a
few stops along the way, picking up riders, and looking around
    for future whitelighters.....HA HA

    Welcome Home....Change your name!

    How about "Squash"

I wish someone named me squash.....Have a nice day

Picking up riders eh....maybe we need to talk about this late may gathering, that is unless detroit isn't one of those stops, and the traffic does suck 'round here. And don't worry, I am an ax murderer, I just can't seem to find me ax. I would be eternally grateful as the more I read of rainbow the more I want to be a part of it, and I should have plenty of gas money by then, I wouldn't mind the Ocala gathering but I'm not sure how I'll be finacially by then and if I'll get that much time off work having just started. And no I can't my name it's got sentimental value or some such thing.

ALSO: Check out the Rideboard....There are sisters and brothers
near Detroit that might be easier to get to.

There are three or more ride boards.....

Ocala is great....I usually spend about 500-1000 dollars
Sometimes, I don't have any cash, it just depends on how
much there is to go around.....

You know, all you need is a tent, and a sleeping bag....BUT
so many things make a gathering happen.....FOOD WATER
an AXE is good, for firewood....I personally like a maul
Medical supplies, Pillows.....extra blankets....a cooking pot
there are more things on welcomehome.org that are good
to bring.....Oh, BTW, the gathering is usually free, except
that you are going to share everything you bring.....

    Have FUn, and GOod Luck

I'm from S.E. michigan. Keep your eye on the Great Lakes Rainbow boards. There are sometimes potlucks and such throughout the year.

Send me a PM and maybe we can chat a little.

Hey this was just the sort of post I was going to put, but I thought I'd do a search first!

Hello fellow Michigan brothers and sisters! I too am interested in the Rainbow occurances in Michigan, but the webpages and forums are somewhat vague and I've never been to anything around here, or any rainbow gathering for that matter. I know there's not much in the winter, besides the one in February. (plus I'm staying in Cincinnati over the winter then back in the spring)

Fortunate son..I live about 45 miles N. of Detroit near Oxford/Lake Orion area. Bigger cites around are Auburn Hills and Lapeer. I often visit Detroit for urban exploration, but its too cold now!!

Where are the rest of you guys at?

They used to do 'em, mid-February, up by Sleeping Bear Dunes. Anybody know if they still do?

    I slept through it.....

I would sleep through the end
