What's the point in taking the time to write lyrics which will then be delivered with terrible diction rendering them indecipherable? It seems a wasted effort. (I do like metal btw lol)

    I agree

there is a metal style for all! metal is so diverse... although some part dont deserve to be called metal but alas I am too lazy to correct everyone when they wrongly categorize something of metal

aslo... screamo sucks it is the bastard spawn of old school hardcore punk which in turn is a weird spawn... to me (opinion based on the sound and well assumption) of some kind of cross-breeding between punk and metal... personally I do like oldschool hardcore, before the straight edge stuff started coming in

Awww I love Nu-Metal. I used to love metal too but I just stopped listening to it. I think it's partly to do with all these music channels churning out really shit bands I don't think metal is what it used to be anymore. The most metal I get these days is Machine head.

Mmm metal is constantly morphing and distorting... sub sub sub genres are showing up left, right and centre. Fair to say that we won't have any more "Metallica type bands" showing up any time soon.

A genre I want to get into but having a hard time tracking is funeral metal :(

im a die hard metal fan as well but i had the same question as you. i was once told that the singer's voice acts more as an instrument in death metal. find harmony in the voice by hearing it as part of the orchestra and forget the words. the words come after you understand the tone of the song

    :cheers2:

    favorite bands ?

right now im bumpin Nile, Electric Wizard, Between the Buried and Me, Dethklok, Dimmu Borgir, and Lamb of God. just got the Lamb of God Killadelpia DVD. shit rocks.

May aswell put some of the bands in which I Enjoy out there. Various types of metal and then a couple which have no relation to metal... can you guess which ones?
Opeth | Agalloch | Katatonia | Porcupine Tree | Blackfield | Amon Amarth | Anthrax | Behemoth | Burn the Priest | Lamb of God | Chimaira | Dimmu Borgir | Enya | Explosions in the sky | Fantomas | Morbid Angel | Meshuggah | A Perfect Circle | Tool | Kysuss | Mastodon | God Forbid | Metallica (older stuff) | My Dying Bride | Pantera | Paradise Lost | Suicide Silence | Therion | Shadows Fall | Unearth... theirs a few various other ones.... but they are the bands in which I really enjoy
