"Here's what we want you to do: 1. Go to a publicly available computer. 2. Type in Meat.org. 3. Walk away. 4. That's it. "
i used to put up slaughterhouse videos on the school library computers and just walk away. lol i think they got pissed after a while but i dun care good idea though ill have to do this next time im using a public computer
you're 15? if that's the truth, wow, i had a hard time concentrating on thoreau sometimes...I couldn't finish it the first time i tried (age 18) because it was too long winded and confusing in some parts...lol you're a smart cookie
civil disobediance really inspired knowing Gandhi and king drew inspiration from it. sorry fr the spellling errors I havent slept in a while
omg....i saw that video n i cried....now im scarred for life....that was fucking HORRIABLE! i cant beileve those slaughterhouses......how can we stop them????????!!!!!! i defienly dont want to eat ANY meat products from any animals that were toturted in a slaugterhouse. but how would i know?
Not nice video is it. But I also dont agree on vegetarians trying to make meat eaters stop, just the same as i dont agree with people pushing their believes onto others
Over 9 billion animals are slaughtered per year for consumption...about 95% of them are factory farmed... You can get certified organic free range/grass fed meat and rest assured that's high quality, but anything other than that is very questionable and I wouldn't eat any meat that is not organic...just for health reasons, not to mention the massive environmental implications and cruelty issues. Or you could just quit eating meat and dairy products all together. You can get a Free Vegetarian starter kit here - http://www.goveg.com/order.asp
i showed this video to my lil sister and my mom, and now all my little sister's friends are passing it around amongst themselves and their friends....i hope maybe i made some converts! i think my sis is going to try harder to be vegetarian now, which makes me really happy. i dont expect her to go as far as i have and be vegan though.
gosh don't you just hate it when somebody tries to stop you from killing their friends! its so annoying. stupid vegetarians. almost as bad as those people that tried to stop the holocaust. stupid vegetable eaters.
I was just explaining this to my neighbor the other day, who happens to be a friend of mine that I've been close to since I was 2 years old, so thats over 20 years. He is trying to give up meat, but it being very childish about it. And I kept bothering him about it, and he was like "why do you really care what I eat?" And I was like, if I heard someone beating the shit out of an animal in the next room, would I just sit there and let it happen because Im afraid of what they might think about me? Or say to me?! Reality is reality folks ~
Ermm I didnt call any vegetarians stupid did I!!!! Its just the same in my eyes as people pushing their religion onto me. Its annoying. I used to be vegetarian a few years back and I understand where some of you lot are coming from but then there are som extremishs out there who take is waaaay to far. I dont push eating meat on vegetarians and they shouldnt push their crap onto me, im well aware what happens to the animals but just stopping eating meat isnt going to make that cow not suffer,
im the one that called vegetarians stupid.. duh. now, there IS a difference between vegetarianism and religion. one involves the massive slaughter of innocent creatures. lol, not that religion is MUCH different, but you know...gotta choose your battles... are you serious with this statement? or uninformed? you seem pretty serious, so i dont think you are making a joke...
i'm a vegetarian, but the cold fact is that people have been eating meat since the dawn of time. make your arguments, but the human body is made for meat consumption as well as vegetables. i don't look down on omnivores. animals are brutally killed in the wild too. a quick clean slit in the throat seems pretty tame compared to getting your throat ripped out by an alligator, or eaten alive by a snake. on the other hand, yes there is the argument that those animals led a full life before being killed, and animals in captivity don't. animals in captivity are bound to be mistreated, that's what happens when you mass produce living creatures. and it would be better if people stopped eating meat, because the pros of going without it outweigh the cons. what i'm trying to say is that there's actually no right or wrong choice. so arguing about it is pretty pointless. and im not saying that to anyone on this thread in particular, just my two cents.
Actually, no, it really isnt lol. It is able to withstand some meat, but the body never fully digests it. Besides, all energy from food comes from the sun, the plants trap the sun energy with clorophyll. We eat the plants and the energy is spread throughout our body, breaking down into energy by way of our natural system. So why eat animals? All they contain is energy from the sun because they also eat plants. Why go through the trouble of killing something and eating all the extra fat when we can just eat plants? Honestly, it makes no sense ~
that's true relayer, but we get fats from animals, which is what we used to keep us warm long, long, long before we invented coats. but i understand what you're saying. the only reason why humans eat now is because 1) its there and it's edible 2) even though there's a lot of harmful things in it, it does contain certain nutrients and 3) people have grown up on it. granted, those aren't good reasons to eat it. all the nutrients in meat can be found in many plants as well. but unfortunatly we live in a "i want it right now!" society, where people are too busy to read labels, research which plants have what nutrients, or cook. they reach for the south beach diet chicken dinner. "i don't know which veggies have protein, so ill be safe and eat a fish." and who could forget the endless stream of fast food burger joints. i'm not saying we were meant to eat meat, i'm just saying everybody, or even half the population giving it up isn't likely. perhaps people should put more energy into convincing the meat industry to treat their live stock better, instead of convincing them to pack up and leave town for good. i hate to be pessimistic, but i doubt either will happen. but don't get me wrong, i completely agree with you. it makes much more sense to be a vegetarian. its' not only good for us and the animals, but the environment too when you think about it.
