Man such BS. So yesterday some teacher told the administration that I smelled like marijuana. They searched my car, locker, me and found nothing. My dad had to come pick me up because they wouldnt let me drive home. So apparently I didnt get suspended. Errr WRONG. So today I go into school and at about 11:00 get called down to the office. They said because I was "high" yesterday that I now have exceded my demirit points and I got a 10 day suspension. Now on this wednesday I have to go up in front of the board of education to see if they want to expel me. If I'm not expelled then I have to give consent to 3 drug tests a week, and if I fail any tests then I will be expelled immediatly. WTF man I hate this bs.
That's really fucked up man. All the faculty and teachers at my HS knew I was high and they didn't do shit. It's obvious your school cares nothing about it's students, and I would get as far away from there as possible. -Mike
man thats horrible, and you didnt have anything on you? just because you "smelled like marijuana"? high school = no rights, but still, don't let them do anything without a fight. Just be smart about what you say, don't be a dick about it. Thats not to say you shouldn't argue with them, but do it in an intellegent way, and I don't imagine they can do much just for smelling like pot. Then again, its a high school, so ya never know...
Shitty, man. I'd take the expulsion and just go to another school, like a night school(fuckin fun as hell), so I could smoke. I smelled like weed one day at school and I was expelled THAT DAY. Of course, I had a concealed weapon too, but still......harsh, man.
i got kicked out of high school and all, although my storys a bit different. Keep fighting it tho, just becaue you "smelled" like it doesnt mean you were high right? and yeah dont fuss around and get angry at them, its a bureaucracy they do have a lot of power. Theres so much more i wanna say about these kinds of things, but you know how it is. Hope you get through alright man, and whatever comes at you jus take it thats fate, cant rearange it the way you want it to be.
personally, if i was in your situation, i would drop out and get my GED.... oh wait, that pretty much did happen to me, and i did drop out and get my GED. i wish i would of made the decision to drop out earlier. i planed on attending community college, then transferring to a 4 year school anyway, so dropping out didn't disrupt my plans, as a GED is the same as a HS diploma in the eyes of a community college.
i might have a story that could help: last year my older brother was caught stealing a test. There wasn't a teacher in the class and many kids took the copies off her desk. He and a lot of the kids in the class got caught. When they were given punishments my brother(who has long hair and hangs with the alternative croud) was suspended 3 days while the other kids(who were preps and members of the natl. honor society and all that bs...) only got detentions and one day in in-school restriction, even though they all did the same crime. My parents weren't exactly pleased with the biased sentenceing and went to the school to complain. They were less pleased with the administration's response, which was to dodge the questions and refuse to reconsider. Then my dad, who was by this time quite agitated, asked about who he could talk with about a lawsuit. He then asked if he could call his lawyer. Almost immediatly the tone changed. The administration backed down. My brother served his suspension but it was wiped from his record permeanantly and won't be seen by colleges, ect.

YES I'M NOT BANNED gosh iv been wanting to reply to so many of these damn threads. anyway, they have no right to suspended you for "being high" the day before if they found nothing at all. like said before, you should really tell them about either taking it to the school board or calling an attorney, after i told my principal and vice-principal that after some kid got caught with someone else's PSP he tried to say it was me(well it was me but i gave it to him because i really didn't want it)((nor get in trouble for it)) and they were telling me they have me on camera and everything which i knew was a lie because it was in the locker room. and after i told them they have no proof they cant do anything to me and if this harassment went on any further i would contact my attorney, they shut up and said they would call my parents so they can "call my attorney" i said no need for that i have my attorney on speed-dial on my cell phone. they gave up on it. what im trying to say is that they lie like dogs to try and make you confess anything that could suspend you or kick you out. like said before make intelligent conversations with them and dont give up that easily because shit like that can change the inti ire course of your life. trust me. and on another note, they dont have the right to drug test you unless its parental consent or if your on probation(at least in California anyway). so dont let that scare you.
fuck that shit man....... id check the local laws........ although schools do have more rights to search and whatnot... it still sound like quite an infringement..... id do some looking into it.... call, talk to a lawyer....... just make sure you check all your options before giving in
... threaten to sue. They back off every time. Just because they act like you don't have any rights, doesn't mean that you don't.
