hey all, i may be going to madison for like 4 days this summer... im going with my sister and we're volunteering for this thing, but we would like to take some time to check out the city. i figure with 3 nights and any time we have during the day will be a pretty decent amount of time to look around. Anyone who lives in/near Madison/been there before, know any cool places we should check out? I really wish i was 21 so i could check out bars and stuff, have some fun, you know, only 19 though. both my sister and i smoke weed... if theres some places that are easy to find weed/smoke that would be cool (we're gonna fly there so i dont want to bring shit on the plane or anything) i heard theres a headshop and some sweet restaurants on state street but i dont really know anything else about the city. i just want to know of restaurants, museums, parks, anything interesting (nothing too touristy though, i hate touristy shit)
You definitely don't need to be 21 to check out the bars in Madtown , especially in the summer time when most of the college kids are away and the bars are looking for more $. There are sweet headshops all over, I'll ask my friend in Madison which is the best. Definitely check out the Madison Zoo, the Zoo is great when you're drunk/high or both. Also speaking of which I live like an hour from Madtown so if you need any help just lemme know. There is a sweet house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright called House on the Rock there. You can walk out onto a hallway inside that literally has nothing supporting it from below, it is SWEET.
wow, newrad you make this place sound sweet. all i know of in madison WI is science meetings and stuff like that from my work. i always assumed it was lame b/c of that i've always wanted to see some of frank lloyd wright's architecture
you sure bars wont card us? i dont look 21 haha any bars in particular that are easier to get into? also i'll definitely check out that house. i'd like to see the zoo if we have time... im not sure how much time we will have during the day.
I'll ask which bars card easy, and yeah most of the bars don't really card the girls from my experience, no one likes a sausage fest And porky, Madtown in no way could be lame. It is home to the flagship UW campus, one of the biggest party schools in the nation. They have a 25k person Halloween Party through downtown every year. Also not that I like salvia, but you can buy up to 200x salvia in Madison LOL. I'm happy that shit has been made illegal in IL though.
wisconsin is the shit. i could go 30 mins and drink alcohol. but i wont lol cause ill get too drunk to drive back BUT NO they dont card you usually. if you look old enough, youll pass
