I know you are there. and if you don't post soon, I am going to track your ip addresses and either come get you fucked up out of your mind, or set my dogs loose on you.
i never could figure out why someone would lurk an internet forum without joining. something with a purpose, like the gamefaqs forums if you have a specific gaming question that you're searching for an answer to, then yes i understand. but i've seen several people who claim to have lurked at RT for years before joining, and that just really doesn't make sense to me. although now that you're offering free drugs to the lurkers it does seem a tad more logical...
Good morning, I was a lurker for about a year before joining. It is a good thing to learn about the culture and the customs of a group before joining the group. And lurking is entertaining . I finally joined because there was a thread I thought I had to contribute to. Never got an answer IIRC . Regards Gyro
Sometimes I lurk for a few minutes to see if anything interesting is going on. It's funny to run across my own posts when I'm not logged on, because it shows that I've been a member since March 2009. When I'm logged in, it says I've been here since Feb. 2009. Why the difference? I joined late in the evening on Feb. 28th, when it was already March 1st in Europe and Australia. When I'm not logged in, all the times and date calculations revert to London time, +/- an hour.
Dear Piaf, well, I had not seen it this way before. I come from usenet, where it is natural to first discover the 'local' customs (OK, times have changed and some people lack good manners nowadays. YMMV ). For me the main reasons for lurking HF such a long time where the terms of usage and my dislike of webforums . I can see that lurking might be creepy. But for my defence I have to say that lurking for me is not about collecting information about specific people and that HF is a public place. Everything you say here is public. For evermore. Perverts might collect and print out every word you say and every picture you post. One should consider this before posting. Regards Gyro
