Alot of stuff happened in this place at this particular time.I know it was already past the summer of love but New York was hopping the summer of '69.I hit the city in the spring. I checked out Bleeker street but second avenue and St Marks Place felt like home so I stayed. I'd like to hear from others who were there and see how much of this time we can remind each other of. I remember Papo,Frankie and Johnny Cool from the Puerto Rican Black cats. I met Papo my first day on St Marks. I remember a hot summer day,a cop roughed somebody up on second and a good samaritan stepped in and said "hey that's not cool.." He got busted and I believe that's what started the riot. The PTF had about 30 cars on ST Marks and they were walkin around in riot gear. The stobe light at the Naked Grape. Zap Comix in a store on St Marks(the undergound uplift?)I'm not sure what it was called.Peace acid. What was the name of the coffee shop across second on the same side as the naked Grape? Anyone else remember that summer?---CJ
