I'm sort of sad to see that one of my favorite forums isn't getting as much traffic since the sig rules thing....

Can I ask you all what your reasons are for not posting as much? Does it have to do with sig rules? I notice a lot of the mama's and papa's who use to post here aren't around as much any more.

What can we do to make you all come back or even get more traffic in here. I miss seeing everyone's new creations and I miss chatting with ya.

i think it's the sig rules and the fact that people were told not to make a new thread every time they made something new. i don't know why. and maybe they were told they could not get free advertising? dunno. i miss it too. this was such a nice forum, i would post in others sometimes but never as much as in here. it was my favorite :(

yeah, it was my favorite too. I mean, i liked posting what I made, but I loved looking at what everyone else has come up with.

It seemed like in the period of a week everything changed. After the whole "no new thread for everything you make" thing, well... I don't feel like I can post pics in a new thread without getting sent to the hip forums "principal's office". And before that we all had to take our sig. links down. I understand the reasons behind it all... don't get me wrong... but it seemed to take the fun out of it all.

so yeah... I don't spend nearly as much time as I used to here. I made 3 necklaces today... but will I post pics? Nah... probably not.

I've been really busy lately, and only can post pics when I take my camera to get the pics on disc, which is like once a month if i'm lucky. I don't get the not posting pics of everything you make I thought that was kind of the point of fashion and CRAFTS.

Well, I'm hoping that people will come in and share their new creations again. I know I'll keep sharing mine. Maybe since they don't wnt us starting new threads for everything we make, those of us who wish to share can make one thread, like I would have "Hipmoons creations" and post all my new stuff in there. That way the board isn't getting clogged with tons of new threads by the same people. So each person can have a thread they post their new stuff in for us to check out. Does that make sense? That way other people can go to a specific persons thread to look for new items.

I keep checking back to see if anyone from before is still comgin in here..... it's sad to see that such a busy forum is now like a ghost town.

    Don't worry we'll change that!

It is pretty sad that there has been a lot less traffic. I thought, like Moonjavaseed, that it wasn't out of control either. I love seeing everyone's beautiful creations and meeting tons of interesting people. Maybe we'll just have to start up a forum else where for all of us.....one that isn't so restrictive.

well for me...after reading the 'heads up' thread..i started to feel like i was being looked upon as a spammer using this place as my only means of advertising for my site....[IMG]
my stance on that is that i dont depend on this site to get me traffic to my site...sure it helps..sure its a fantastic way to get my stuff thats for sale out to people that might actually buy it or get custom orders...but thats not my point in posting the stuff i make here...
i post my stuff for the same reason i think that all of us to..to share it...
we all know the feeling when we make something n it actually turns out nice n we just wanna show it to anyone that will look..thats it for me...

i think also that individual threads with all our stuff is a good idea too!

so like...whatever...thats my take...im a mad spammer! rawr!

    exactly.

maybe the reason you feel that way has something to do with this comment?

all this makes me think is that this forum (and the wonderful posters here) is being very misunderstood and that's sad. any spam that i've seen here slips by pretty fast due to lack of response.

oh well, i will continue to look here every day and hope you guys keep posting your new creations. and i will work on getting off my lazy butt and posting my own more often :)

i know what you me about feeling like we're looked upon as spammers. i feel the same way. i love to look at everyone's beautiful work and when i see that they have a site, i check it out. there are so many talented people here and it is a great place for meeting others of like mind. i don't know of any other forums with such a diverse crowd and a group of crafters that get along so well!

and supermommy, you as SO NOT a spammer....i love your work and get excited every time i see a new post from you :D

I must admit, I'm not sure what the problem with having your website in your signature is. I love looking at pictures of what you guys make, you're all really talented and I'm so envious, and as for there already being a sticky, it's loads of pages long so if you're just looking for a certain thing, it takes ages to go through and people's stuff gets overlooked. Whereas if you could post it in your signature when you posted a new item, everyone would instantly know where to look for more. Just random thoughts...

Aghh... I wish skip and his folk on this site understood what nice women you all are. I know none of you are spammers or anything like that. :( Not everyone see's the sticky at the top for posting your site either. It took me so long to even notice it... I don't see the harm in posting your website link... Honestly, was it doing anyone any harm?

I notice two themes here. On one hand, "people did'nt post here to advertize their site." On the other, "forbidding weblinks in the sigs. has reduced the traffic here." Am I the only one who sees a contradiction?

i just can't be bothered anymore. I feel like i've grown out of forums. I'll lurk around here and there just to see some new threads people have stitched up, other than that, i don't care to be around anymore. People take this place too seriously anyways. (the forums as a whole, not fashion & crafts) I don't need to be sucked into that drama more than i already was.
