I recommend The Black Angels. (think 13th Floor Elevators, BJM, The Doors) Very psychedelic. Many people may already know them, but I thought I might suggest it to the people who don't know yet. Anyone else know some bands along this line?
Hi Valania!!!!! Thanx for the sweet heADS UP......IF YA WANNA find the cool new psych stuff out there, go here..... http://www.northernstarrecords.co.uk/
Didn't know them either, pretty good sound although far from original (not necessarily a bad thing if they're really good in what they're doing ).
I did know the Black keys though hehe (yeah, had to think of them because their name but their sound is about equally original ), which are also as retro as you can get. Have to admit that too retro can get on my nerves a bit (if it sounds really recycled) and these black keys and black angels are both on the edge for me personally. The Black keys are more blues rock orientated by the way, with really groovy guitar on some albums. I'd say also try Radio Moscow - Brain cycles. :cheers2:
How about Family Groove Company?!!!....if you like it psychedelic By blackglove at 2010-03-03 By blackglove at 2010-03-03
Good suggestions, Black Keys are great, and Radio Moscow is so good that I find it hard to believe when listening sometimes. Some more suggestions could be Baby Woodrose, The Dolly Rocker Movement, and Golden Animals.
Try out also The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Anton Newcombe is musical genius and he achieved to sound so 60s without copying anything and just being original, they're awesome, check them out. Also try out The Warlocks, Dead Meadow, Causa Sui, Spacemen 3...
I only really dig Causa sui from those bands. Dead Meadow's vocals generally ruin it for me but I like some of their songs (mostly of the album Shivering king). I've been whoring with Dead man in some other threads on this forum but for those who don't know them yet I mention them here again as well Good harmonies and often with a nice psychedelic touch, check out this song from their debut: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-YSNn1u_4Y"]YouTube- Dead Man - Further and this awesome track, wait for the vocals to come in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnJEq71Ce3o"]YouTube- Dead Man - Highway They also have a second album out but their first album really hits it on the spot for me

@Asmodean: wow man, that's some groovy tracks, thanks, will keep me busy for a while especially siena root, that live track is beyond amazing. also, be sure not to miss colour haze, german stoner/psychedelic band. tempel is amazing song, when guitar kicks in at 2:00, it's just so beautiful btw that duna jam is really one-of-a-kind gig, i wish i was there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmK-ukwTfUA"]Colour haze @ duna jam - tempel
That's great man, if you like that sitar tune of them you should check their whole Different realities album! I also heavily recommend the album Kaleidoscope of them
http://www.last.fm/music/Orange+Sunshine/_/Ruler+Of+The+Universe Ok, this is from another site, you have to click the link to listen the song (it's a safe link, promised!). Usually Orange Sunshine's sound comes closer to bands like Blue Cheer but this epic track is really mindblowing psychedelic. You can listen to the whole song by clicking play in the upperright corner of the page!
i I discovered BW last some years ago....kick ass band . DRM are awesome 2! Don't know Golden Animals though
