Hi im sort of new here, I have been to the site on numours occasions but have yet to post a thread. Here it goes; names Mike (nickname's Ugly on a count of my last name) I'm 18 and I live in a suburb of Toronto, Canada called Brampton and hopefully I will be going to college in the fall. This site has opened me up to see what the 60's were really like and how it was to be apart of the counterculture. I also recently read the book Hippie by Miles Davis, the Hippe lifestlye connected with me on a deeper level one in which I could not explain for the longest time I have met a wide selection of people from the drug scene as well as friends, friends and aquaintences. I personnaly would like to know your opinions on the recent tragedy that happend in Mayerthorpe, Alberta where the four RCMP officers were shot dead over a Marijuana grow operation. Do you think that this event will open the eyes of society to change the ridiculous law over simple possesion? I mean if it were legal then there wouldn't be a need for gro-ops because weed would be controled, like amsterdam I guess. PLUR, mike
We welcome another Canadian from Toronto! Sadly, no. I read the articles about it in the news, and they somehow managed to make it seem like the evil of Marijuana is to blame. "Pot kills" and whatnot.
