Hey, I was recently scouring the web to find a very very very cheap .001g scale, and after making it through multiple labarynths (labarynthi?) and slaying one or more minotaur, I was able to find this. http://okpocketscale.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=463 $28.49. shipping was +9USD. Should be here in a few days, I'll update this thread with a low-down of how well it reads/durability. Peace :sifone:
does not look too bad! I think you will be happy with it, as long as you are not trying to weigh a DOX with it.
Like FreetheSun and whitemagic implied, they aren't really that precise. Fine for within say 5 mg of precision, but if you really need to go down the the mg, you'd need something better. Sometimes it helps to turn it off and on, or re-tear and re-weigh too. You'll likely get different readings with a few mg differences because they drift a lot, and just are not that great. Also...a draft free room works better. Without AC or force hot air or anything turned on. That can make a difference when weighing anything.
I personally wouldn't get cheap scales like that, they're likely to be inaccurate, and will probably stop working after a few months. This is the scale that I got, the cheapest I found out of good quality stuff. http://cgi.ebay.com/20-001g-Diamond...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Holy crap THANK YOU! 30 bucks for a scale this accurate is insane. Read the reviews of it people, its quite accurate, and at like 20% the cost of its competitors. Even if it breaks 5 times in your life you still make out even and it has 10 year warranty and comes with calibration weight ordering it right now.
That's the exact scale I got. I don't trust it very much.. As an example, today I turned it on after not having used it for 6 months, waited a minute and put on a 10g test weight that came with it. The window in the room was closed. I'd also like to believe my breathing wasn't a huge factor.. however the scale kept kept fluctuating from 10.001 to 10.012 for like an entire minute before I got bored.. I'm sure I should probably be more patient with it, let it warm up longer, etc, but this kind of erratic behavior is kind of over the top, isn't it? Also, when you put on small amounts, it's also hard to trust. For example, I put 3mg on an empty weighing and it took like maybe 20 seconds for it to reflect the change (0.003).
hmm yeah, i see what you mean. if i ever do anything that requires that degree of precise measurement i'll just make 5 different readings and give each one 5 minutes to read out before writing it down. right now though i'm going to use it for DPT/DiPT so it being off by as much as 10mg is not a big deal.
ive go the same exact scale too. and i always make sure i calibrate it before each use. and then for each measurement i wait a few minutes. and u def shouldnt be using this scale for under 10mg IMO. under 10 and it jus seems to like to bounce around a lot. but 10mg and up and it works perfectly fine for me :cheers2:
Will definitely keep this in mind, thanks! Now I can officially blame the scale for the varied intensity of my repeated 'same low-dose' trips .
if you want to measure a very small amount (under 10mg), simply measure out a larger amount and either eyeball it into 2-4 parts, or dissolve it in a liquid concentration.ie: measure out 20mg, you want 5mg. even if you suck at dividing a pile into 4, the most you should be off by is 1-2mg.
this one's a keeper. I ordered one last wednesday, and it arrived on monday with free shipping. out of the box it confirmed the recording made of a metal pentip on a 0.0001g accuracy. (1.7658 vs 1.766).
I think this is kind of a big deal. I think that you show probably sploog on something like that. After all it is kind of important. I think that this should be a basic tool for all people who are willing to use stuff. Am I just being paranoid or is it one of the more important factors of doing stuff like this? I guess people who use drugs don't have that much money huh? I know I make a decent living and I would not skimp on something like that. Although, I guess that if you are only weighing weed and MDMA it will be fine.
I always hated the bouncing back and forth of scale readings.. It's because it's technically reading a pendulum weighing system (like the one at the doctors, he has to set it back and forth to read the weight), though digitally. I've always found that if you put as little on as possible at a time and keep adding it, it won't go back and forth. If you have a sensitive scale, don't breath on it.
well, for under 25 i cant even begin to complain about mine. it comes with a 10g calibrator, matches a 10X more accurate lab scale's measurements, and was about 1/3 the price of most other milligram scales
