hi all, i know that wax is bad, bad, bad. i have not used any in my baby dreads. a friend of mine, however, got some knotty boy locksteady gel, and i was wondering if this would gunk up my hair too or actually help the locking process. my dreads are coming along nicely and i don't want to mess it up, but any help i can give them, i want to give. -k.
im not sure about knotty boy gel. but i know that aloe gel is ok, so you should maybe try some of that. i dont use any form of gels i dont mind my dreads being a complete mess because at the end of the day thers nothing i can do about it haha
A little bit of 100% aloe vera gel occasionally will help to keep the fuzzies down w/o gunking it up too much.
Locksteady is a shite load better than Wax.. mainly because it's actually water soluable!! So you can actually wash it out. If they're coming along nicely though i wouldn't bother. Just use a bit of aloe
i use the locksteady gel i take it you mean the lime and aloe vera one ? i've found it amazingly useful as its got a rarther strong scent to it that leaves my hair smelling good as i still havent washed it yet because i know that my young locks will die its rarther good for getting rid of the frizzies aswell, which is what my boss at work moans about the most as its the "untidyest" bit of my hair
