Anyone actually think it's realistically possible to live outside the system, that is the need to be part of the rat race, have a job, money etc etc Anyone know anyone actually doing it???
I dont get exactly what your saying. I think you have some of your words jumbled there. If you mean do you think its possible to live your lfie having money and not be pulled in to the corporate world etc. Yes I think its possible. Being an entrapenur (sp) you arent in the system although you have to buy alot of your product from corporations but you arent exactly working for them I guess. Or working for one of those entrapenur (sp) store owners. Head shops Being a prostitute also brings in big bucks and you dont have to be exactly sucked into that whole corporate everyday drone type of world. Sorry if I completely missed your point.
No I mean outside even that, living without need for money? I suppose in a commune like someone else said, I presume there are some communes left?? What you described isn't exactly what I was getting at tbut is better than the 9-5 shit.
there are a hell of a lot of communes left...just look for some on the internet and ull find some around you. one day i hope to open my own commune in new mexico
Ahh alright, now I get what you are saying. Sure its possible. Go move off into a woods that the terrain wont be populated for hundreds of years. Build a small house. Make sure to have a water source near by. Have some survival gear and start living. Cultivate your own plants and hunt for your own food. Whatever would be needed. That would be a pretty big feat though.
I never said there was anything particularly wrong with it I was justwondering if people thought it was possible to live outside it and all the other things that go with "modern day living".
easiest way is to own a peice of land. Even then you will need some income, enough to pay local property tax. If you have enough land you could chop and sell firewood, or raise honey bees, or sell food from your garden, or sell a craft item, or...lotsa stuff. Yeah, it is possible.
well obviously anyone capable of creating universes out of nothing must by deffinician be capable of living outside of both time and space. this so called system so popularly takin for granted as a given is neither timeless nor eternal. however tenaciously it may hold the current moment by its short hairs. our shere numbers as a species make it difficult and improbable for the average joe sixpack to survive outside of the mutual coersiveness of human society. difficult and improbable but by no means incapable of accomplishment nor is the human species limited to joe sixpacks! (else here would not very well be here now would it?) i have in my brief span of slightly more then half a century known a number of persons to have lived and done so quite happily outside the box of stiffling ambient assumptions. it is also quite possible to be a part time systemer. to spend alternately a year of toil, a year of leasure and a year of study, in perpetual rotating sequence. this is not an unreasonable way to spend one's life as there is always more to learn and find fascination in other opportunities, though often well concealed behing the smokescreen of ambient flim flam, if not abound, are certainly by no means abscent. several have of course been mentioned. a willingness to content oneself with the abscence of the symbolic illusion of pretend wealth can open doors otherwise unimmagined to put it another way, you are only emotionaly attatched to what you are emotionaly attatched to i haven't succeeded in building myself the kind of high tec bat cave in wich i would prefer to spend my appoint hour on this green earth, yet neither have i starved, and you will note of course my presence in this magical quasi universe of little words shared among us by the subtle yet quite predictable forces of tecnology. i do not own an automobile, a credit card or a cell phone. in my lack of desire for them i find far greater freedom then ever the illusion of might be created by their possession. had i not the love for this very tecnology with which we hold this conversation, i would at this moment be living in my beloved hills, as yet i may before quiting this mortal coil unless there's someone pointing a gun at your head, the only thing that locks us into familiar assumptions, are our emotional attatchements to them. hell, even if there IS a gun pointed at your head it is at least possible to transcend your emotional attatchment to tangable mortal life. i shall cling to mine for a space yet as there is so much more of this universe i wise to see and enjoy and discouver, if not geospicifily, then in the nature of certain of its subtle details in which i find endless fascination. but if you real want out, open a door and set one foot ahead of the other. worst comes to worst there are bridges and soup lines. best comes to best you will meet companions and build your own kinds of communities with their own 'systems', nether durived from nor dependent on 'the system' so many take so much for granted. =^^= .../\...
I wouldn't even know where to start......maybe the fact that it is centred around getting a 9-5 job and a pension scheme and working for 40 years until you rot away. Also becoming a good old consumer getting force fed advertisements 24-7, living in a corporate culture where it's getting to the stage that companies are running countries not government (more so in America than here in Europe, but we're not far behind), seeing normal culture being eroded. Modern day living is depressing to say the least, still ingorance is bliss for those that don't realise it.
